Clothing and description: Sophia has snow white hair, coming to her mid-thighs. She usually keeps it pulled back in a ponytail, with some pieces of hair surrounding her face. Her eyes are a hazel color, and her skin is pale. She is 5'4 and has a healthy frame for her height, and has a bit of muscle showing in her arms. On her right forearm is a floral design tattoo, which she willingly got. She normally wears a calm expression, with the hint of a smile. While in school she wears a white shirt with sleeves that come to her elbows with dark pants and boots. When going out on a mission she adds a navy blue jacket that comes to her thighs that she buttons from the bottom up to the middle. If she isn’t in school and just relaxing, she’ll wear a light colored tank top and pants, usually with a jacket tied around her waist.
In her weapon form she is a two-handed claymore. The blade is about forty-two inches long, and silver. The tattoo on her forearm appears along the blade on both sides, it’s much bigger though stretching all the way down it. The grip is about thirteen inches long and black with three dark blue stripes spaced evenly apart on it.

History: Sophia was born and raised in a small town that no one would really bother to travel too. The town wasn’t very known or large, nor was it on the map. She was born into a large family, the fourth of five children. But her three older brothers were always involved with different activities, sports and school wise, so she rarely did anything with them. Sophia had a younger sister who she played with though, so she had her company. Her mother studied in the research of souls, but balanced the time between research and family. Her father was very high in social status, so his children had to be perfect and not different. Sophia, however, was different from a very young age.

When she was five years old she was playing outside with her brothers, one of the rare times that it happened. One of her brother’s threw a rock at another, but he jumped out of the way and it came straight at Sophia. She threw her hands over her face, and all the way up her right arm to just below her shoulder became the blade of a sword. The rock bounced harmlessly off the blade and landed at her feet. Her mother came running outside, seeing the whole episode from the window of the house, and Sophia managed to somehow turn her arm back to normal. Sophia’s mother was amazed, explaining to her daughter that she was a weapon. Though she barely understood any of her mother’s explanation, Sophia decided it must have been a good thing, judging on her mother’s excitement. But her father was another story. He was anything but happy about Sophia’s new power. Sophia being a weapon could ruin his status, being as she was now different and some people might find it strange. This started the never ending conflict between Sophia and her father.

Sophia’s parents often fought about her being a weapon, each trying the other to see their opinions and failing to do so. One day Sophia couldn’t take the fighting anymore, and ran out of the house in tears. She ran through the streets of the town, wanting to get as far away as possible from her parents. Blinded by her tears, she ran into another girl, knocking both of them over. The girl turned around, annoyed, but when she saw Sophia’s tears, she was concerned. The two girls went for a walk and Sophia learned that the girl’s name was Hannah. Sophia didn’t tell Hannah that she was a weapon, but the two girls found many similarities between them. By the end of the day, Sophia and Hannah were best friends. When she returned home, Sophia’s mother took her to her room and talked to her. She told Sophia that she should practice her powers, and not listen to her father. So she listened to her mother, practicing turning her arm into a blade every day, as this was all she knew how to do at the time.

Over the years Sophia had a good childhood. She went to school, promising her mother to never use her weapon form there. Hannah and Sophia became closer each time they were together, and eventually Sophia explained to her friend what she could do. Hannah was only amazed, never criticizing Sophia for it. She also discovered her love for music, finding it a comfort when she wasn’t with Hannah or her mother, as her and her sister grew apart as they got older. She also learned how to change into her full weapon form by picturing herself as a full sword. She ended up falling to the floor, forgetting that she was standing when she changed, but she was proud of herself for figuring it out. Sophia’s father rarely showed his disapproval in front of Sophia when she was a child, but by the time she was nine, Sophia could tell her father wasn’t happy or proud of her at all.

At first Sophia was upset. It seemed that no matter what she did, her father wasn’t happy with it. She did her best to prove that she could be what he wanted. She worked hard in school, followed, “The Rules of the House” which were rules that Sophia had to abide by, even went to social events with her father that she’d normally do anything to miss. But his opinions didn’t change. By the time she was twelve, Sophia was done trying. If he wanted to disapprove of her, she’d give him something to disapprove of.

“The Rules of the House” were a set of rules that were treated like laws in Sophia’s family. Her father had set them up to protect his social status, enforcing them when Sophia and her siblings were children. If you broke one of the rules, you were in serious trouble. Knowing this would get to her father, Sophia began breaking the rules one by one. She started slacking off in school, using her weapon form there, and began to stick out from her siblings even more. She started talking to people her father worked with when she saw them, knowing that her father feared them realizing her difference. Sophia began sneaking out at night, often Hannah coming with her, and going to the plaza of town to hear different people play music, which both girls loved. With each rule she broke, she could see how angry her father got. What could he do to her though? She had quit all activities she had joined for him before, and locking her in her room just meant she could practice her weapon form. If he hit her, Sophia’s mother was bound to take her and leave. Sophia’s mother took no action to stop these events, mostly because she was often away on business. At age thirteen, Sophia had Hannah put a tattoo on her right forearm, her own way of making her difference known, and declaring it to everyone without a word. Her father was enraged and that was what Sophia wanted.

Things began to change when she turned fourteen. Her mother was called out on a three year research project, and she’d have to travel. Sophia’s little sister was being sent to live with a relative, her mother believing she was too young to be alone, since her father was gone most of the time for business during the past year. Sophia begged her mother to let her go too, but she refused. When she asked why she told her that when the time came she couldn’t let her father hold her back from doing what she felt she needed to do. Sophia didn’t ask any more questions, trusting her mother. Her mother told her she’d be back in three years, and Sophia awaited her return. However Sophia wouldn’t get to see her mother come back.
A month before she turned sixteen, Hannah came to her with exciting news. She’d heard of a place where weapons like her were trained. She didn’t know anything else, but Sophia didn’t need any other information to be convinced this place was where she belonged. She felt no reason to stay, her older siblings were leaving and the last thing she wanted was to be alone with her father. She decided that once she turned sixteen she’d tell her father she was leaving.

But the day after her birthday, tragedy struck. Sophia and Hannah were walking home at sunset, when they came face to face with a monster, though at the time Sophia didn’t know it was a kishen egg. Sophia did her best to protect her friend, but she had no fighting experience with her weapon form, partial or full, and she was easily defeated. The kishen egg spared her and killed Hannah, eating her soul. Now Sophia was alone. She had nothing, nothing but her father, who didn’t care about her in the slightest. So why stick around any longer? She spent two days researching the place Hannah had told her about. She learned it was called Shibusen academy and that it was in Death City. That was all she needed to learn, trusting what Hannah had said.

That night she confronted her father and told him she was leaving for the academy. He refused to let her go. If his daughter went off and joined an academy for weapons, what would everyone think of him? A huge argument erupted, lasting for about half an hour. Sophia was thrown into her room and locked in. But she’d had enough. She wasn’t going to spend her life like this. Sophia finally understood what her mother meant. She opened her window and without wasting another moment she jumped. She managed to land in the tree outside her room and then climbed down. Once her feet touched the ground she ran, never looking back. It took her a week to get to Death City, but Sophia believed it was worth it. She joined Shibusen without a second thought. There was a reason she was born a weapon, and she intended to find out what it was.

Personality: Sophia is friendly and not really shy, though she can be at random times. She understands that not everyone is a friend, and isn’t afraid to make enemies, though she won’t be mean to stranger, and will give them a chance to be a friend. Sophia is actually very obedient to those in charge of her (i.e. teachers, leaders, Shinigami-sama). She will be very obedient to her miester and put full trust in them, but will protest or suggest her opinions if she feels she has too. She’s also very determined, and will do everything she can to accomplish a goal. She is very calm most of the time, and isn’t the first one to make conversation, unless she has to say something important, but will answer if someone speaks to her. When she’s in a good mood she has the habit to tease her friends, though she’ll never purposely hit a nerve with them. Sophia also tends to mock her enemies and purposely hit nerves with them, which she gets from her father, though she hates to admit it. If she gets angry, she doesn’t show it right away. Usually she’ll laugh and make a comment, but if it continues or gets worse she’ll start to show it. If it has to do with a friend though, she’ll show her anger and get straight to the point. She’s really quiet and distracted when she’s upset, though she tries to act normally. Sophia isn’t uncomfortable talking about her past, though if you compare her to her father or anything along the lines of that, that’s hitting a nerve and she can’t ignore it. If you continue, you might earn yourself a one way ticket to hell if no one’s there to calm her down. Sophia has also been very protective since Hannah’s death, so if someone seems upset, she’ll start to worry and go into a very concerned mode, almost like a mother would be, but in a sixteen year old way. What Sophia really wants to know is that someone cares about her, and that she’s not alone.

Abilities:

Technique Name: Partial Transformation
Effects/Description: Sophia is able to turn her right arm from her hand up to right below her shoulder into the blade of a sword.

Technique Name: Full Transformation
Effects/Description: Sophia transforms into full weapon form as a two-handed claymore.

Combat Style: Sophia starts a battle playing defense, really observing her target. She watches how they fight, and looks for anything that could give her an opening. Once she’s confident in her observations, she’ll attack. She’ll use any weakness that she’s noticed to give her an advantage. If her opponent is too fast for her and she has to focus more on dodging than observing, she’ll attack while aiming for arms or legs. While fighting with a partner, Sophia does mostly the same thing. She is quiet at first, observing her opponent. When she notices something she’ll alert her partner to it. She’ll often throw in any advice to help out.

Miscellaneous Information: She’s not a big fan of lakes or deep water, as she can’t swim very well.

Strengths:

 • Very observant
 • Cooperative with ideas
 • Good at keeping her focus

Weaknesses:

 • Loses focus if worried about her partner
 • If things aren’t going well she gets frustrated and can’t think clearly
 • Can’t take direct hits well

Roleplay Sample: Sophia’s footsteps lightly clacked as she ascended the very large set of stairs leading to Shibusen academy. Today was her first day as a pupil of the school, and she was determined to do her best. If the stairs didn’t go on forever, that is. She’d been climbing them for at least five minutes, though it felt like an hour. The fiery hot sun beating down on her didn’t help either. This explains why students fall asleep during class. Finally she reached the top of the stairs, and the entrance to the academy. She stared up at the school, her calm gaze looking over it. This was where she would start her new beginning. Even if the spikes and skulls that decorated it didn’t look very welcoming.

Sophia broke her gaze and looked down at her arm. Her tattoo laced up her forearm, in an elegant floral design. The memory of her best friend etching it into her skin on her own request surfaced. Because of her friend, she was here today.

Hannah…thank you. I’ll do my best.

With that thought her expression became a determined one. She dropped her arm and stared at the doors to the academy. Then she walked forwards and opened the door, entering the school.

Hello there, Sophia! I'm Miss Marie and I will be doing your moderation for today! ^-^

To be honest, I think that this profile is looking pretty good. There are a few small modifications I'll ask about, but you should be accepted without too much hassle!

Image:
You might want to consider embedding your image in your post, rather than providing a Photobucket link. It just makes viewing that much easier, and it makes your profile look prettier. ^^ You can use this code in order to do so:

It's up to you, but that's what I'd recommend.

Clothing and Description:
Looks pretty good, except for one missing detail. How tall is Sophia?

Sophia's history, personality, and abilities are all well-written, and I see no issues with them. Good job :)

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Did you mean to type something else in place of the middle strength? It looks like you might have copied over it on accident.

The RP sample also looks good. Like I said, with these few modifications you should be up and running in no time. Thank you for applying! ^^
