[Chronos Aetes] [Weapon - Pocketwatch] Character Name: Chronos Aetes, aka "Ticker", aka "Tess" Age: 15 Gender: Male Type: Weapon Partnered? No Image: Human Form Haori Sandals Image: Weapon Form Clothing and description: Chronos is a young man, seeming older than his fifteen years due to his shock white hair. He is tanned from a life of traveling, and his features are strong despite the very fae-like quality they have. His hair is swept back from his face as if in a perpetual wind, seeming to at least bend (if not out-right defy) the law of gravity. His blood-red eyes seem to have layer upon layer of secrets, always seeming sad and withdrawn as if he's seen (or knows) too much. Although relatively tall and heavy (almost six feet and 190lbs), his weight is distributed well, with a very leanly muscled frame and long legs and arms. He appears gangly at first glance (like most teens), but he'll likely grow into them in a few years. Like his arms and legs, his hand and fingers are long, showing the grace of a concert pianist or some other such artist-type, and he keeps them groomed immaculately. He has a vaguely Mediterranean look about him, but where he comes from is somewhat hard to tell. Showing his extreme neatness tendencies, Chronos dresses in simple black and white, accentuated by a variety of silver-colored chains and buckles. He wears high-collared, sleeveless tunics, a black and white haori with the words "Totus ero notus quod incompertus in vicis" stitched across the back in black thread. Well-fitted white pants fall about mid-calf, and black Greco sandals wrap up to meet them. His gloves are black and fingerless with white edges, and a white patch on the back of each holds an old symbol whose meaning has long since been lost (shown on gloves in picture). The chains wrapping around his neck are for show, though can be used as a makeshift weapon or defense (as getting slapped with a chain kind of hurts). The buckles cross at his neck, waist, and left thigh, seeming to have no real purpose other than simply being. As a weapon, Chronos takes the form of an old (but very reflective) silver pocket-watch. It will fit into the palm of whomever is holding him perfectly, and the front facing has the same symbol as on his gloves. The chain is extendable at will, and the backside reads the same script as his jacket. On the inside facing of the cover, the word "Aetes" is scratched in a rough script. The face of the watch is a mirror, each mark in black, and with a day-night panel that shifts with each hour. History: Born as Chronos Meridias Aetes in a Greek island town, Tess was the first born of two children to Angelus and Juno Aetes. Gifted with the same shock-white hair and crimson eyes at birth, his parents thought it would be amusing (not to mention honoring to their gods) to name him after the watcher of time. His sister is a fraternal twin named Moira and is also a Weapon, but with multiple forms (she will have her own character sheet eventually...) Anyway, when Chronos was young, he had a tendency to wander off (not really running away or exploring so much as just meandering aimlessly), so his parents kept him confined. Needless to say, he found ways out and is thus a rather talented escape artist. His family moves from island to island in Greece every couple years, and they moved to America when the twins were ten. From there, they continually traveled year to year, staying in one town long enough for each educational year, then moving again. When they tried leaving Death City, Chronos and Moira suddenly came into power upon contact with Shinigami's soul barrier around the town, each transforming rather abruptly. Concerned, their parents took them to the school, then decided it would be better for the children to stay when they left. This was three years ago. Now, Chronos is a rather lackluster student with a tenacity for escaping class without intention. Usually his sister can pin him down with any regularity, but he never minds. His weapon form is usually used once by every person that takes him up, then is discarded despite being so wavelength-compatible. This is mainly because they never think he's as good as he's made out to be, and few people think an old-fashioned pocket-watch is a "real" weapon. Needless to say, Chronos has consumed no souls and is a rather distant individual. The school psychologist is consistently infuriated by his evasive answers to direct questions as well. x3 Only Moira can call Chronos "Tess". He won't answer whenever anyone else calls him that. Personality: Tess is a very enigmatic person; he keeps much to himself and is not very talkative (though highly observant). While he doesn't panic in social situations, he simply speaks very little and often very simply. He answers questions without applying any real logic or answer to it (i.e. "Where have you been?" "Oh... around..."), and he seems to always be drifting off into thought. He's melancholy, and if given too much exposure to him, it'll rub off on people pretty easily. As a student, he keeps to himself, not reaching any outstanding heights, but not outright failing either. He's average in studies, and though his Wavelengths are malleable, he is neither a good or terrible weapon. A lot of people are put off by his constant distance and lack of trust in people, so he has few friends whenever he stays long enough in a town to make them. Considering his lack-luster nature towards everything, he seems to take everything in stride - Kishin, witches, meteors crashing into the planet, road rage... you name it. He's as placid as a still lake with just about everything. The only time he gets worked up is when someone close to him is threatened - then he starts to express himself a little more. Tess has a very deep bond with his sister that is more than siblings care to talk about. He would do anything for his twin, even give his own life, though he seems to care little about anything else. (Despite this, he and Moira rarely talk, due to the overwhelming differences in their personalities - Moira's cheer doesn't tend to dampen, and Chronos rarely seems to cheer up.) His self-sacrificial nature seems to be only for her, but people who get close enough are included into this category. Despite being distant and inwardly melancholy, if confronted in a direct manner Chronos is rather friendly. He is polite and willing to listen to people aimlessly chatter. Even if it seems like he's not paying a lot of attention, he tracks conversation very well. He's never curt, but he does speak simply and usually not more than he has to. His emotions rarely reach a level where they will become outwardly noticeable, however a break in expression usually indicates something very odd. (Even Moira has only twice seen Tess express something - one to laugh, the other to scowl.) Abilities: Tess can transform fully into his weapon form (the pocket-watch listed above), as well as partially transform into a chain through a limb (usually an arm). He also has the minor ability of being able to momentarily stop time. He has Perfect Time no matter where he is, and is subject to frequent bouts of checking... just in case. His own log of "internal time" keeps him regular, but is subject to change depending on how often he manipulates the flow of "true time". Technique Name: Full Transformation - Pocket-Watch ~Effects/Description: Chronos can transform into a silver pocket-watch that fits perfectly into the palm of whomever is wielding him. All the surfaces of the watch are reflecting, making him good for signaling others with light, plus his chain is extendable at will to make for easy assault or bindings. He also tells perfect time no matter where he is and will adjust according to Daylight Savings or Time Zones. Technique Name: Partial Transformation - Chain ~Effects/Description: As most pocket-watches have a chain, so does Chronos. This chain both extends and thickens at will, and partially transforming is as natural as breathing to him. Usually the chains transforms from his wrists. While their "living" form is delicate, the chains are not and do not break. Though able to extend and thicken at will, the chains never become thicker than his own wrist or longer than 50 feet (note also that these cannot happen at the same time - the longer the chain, the thinner it is). Also, only one portion of Chronos' body may be a chain at a time (since he only has one chain in full Weapon form). Technique Name: 1-Second Burst - Time Manipulation ~Effects/Description: For only one second, Chronos can manipulate time. He has the ability to stop time completely. He and his Meister cannot interact with objects, but they can better position themselves to avoid an attack or prepare for a counter. Upon Chronos’ command time will re-assert itself. This manoeuvre can only be used once every ten minutes. The 1-Second Burst is activated subtly, with no bright flashes of light or anything to alert the enemy. The time the Meister and Chronos experience is approximately 5 seconds, and its main usage is for dodging fatal blows or "disappearing into thin air". As stated previously, Tess is mainly a defensive Weapon. Combat Style: In time with his melancholy nature, Tess has very little interest in fighting, though he does employ a tai-chi style art that occupies most of his attention. While slow in most practices of the art, he can execute the maneuvers quickly and effortlessly if in any real danger. He's not terribly strong, but is good at striking in just the right spot with the most minimal amount of effort. As a Weapon, he prefers to be used defensively, and hopes to gain a technique that will allow him to protect his partners best. On a scale of 1-10 for combat, he's about a 4 as a Weapon and a 5 by himself. Miscellaneous Information: Chronos is obsessed with time and being chronologically accurate. He dislikes when people are late or misrepresent the time of day, and knows an uncountable amount of ways to tell time. He is always unhurried, but if people try to rush or slow him, he becomes agitated. He is in awe of animals, and he seems to be unafraid of heights, as he is usually seen fixing clock towers (unasked, for the most part). Strengths:

Hey there Kallisti ^__^ Shini and I tend to ask that if a person wants to make more than 3 characters that they make sure all of their previous characters are either active or in someone's PC. I know Ellis is active but at the moment your other characters need some more lovin's. Someone's PC is a temporary storage (as you probably know) where you can keep characters that are not active until their time comes. From there they can also be used as NPCs occasionally. |

That's what I was intending to do with Ko, for the most part. x3 I've already made a "Modification" post to ask that she be moved to "Someone's PC" until I can figure out what to do with her. As for Miru, she's starting to work up speed again, and this is to give me something to do while I wait for postings. I like having a lot of options to work with in case I get writer's block or someone forgets to post, ect. Besides, I figure people need more Weapons. x3

Yoiii Kallisti~ Description: Could you please remove
It appears in the manga that normal weapons have to transform part of their human form into their weapon form, while a DeathScythe is able to grow part of their weapon form. At the moment it appears that Tes is ‘growing’ chains around him. Could you also please provide links to unusual items of clothing? Eg: haori and Greek Sandals. Not everyone knows what they are, but most people want to know what a character looks like ^__^ Could you also describe what the ‘old symbol’ is? :3 Otherwise everyone has to just say ‘there was an old symbol on the pocketwatch.’~~ Personality: Given the trouble you’ve been professing about writing yourself into a corner, perhaps you could make Chronos’ personality one that would easy to RP with in character? ability: How quickly can he do his 1-second burst? ie: Could he do it instantly to dodge most attacks? I’d also really like if you limited this technique (just this one) to either ‘time jump’ or ‘time manipulation’ as the two different groups have wildly different implications. General: I feel I should note that while it is great you’ve planned a lot out for Chronos and his sister, you might enjoy trying to create a deep bond with another RPer too? An outwards focus to RPing (rather than inwards focused on your own characters interacting with your own characters) might also help you RP more? =3As always, if you disagree with my modifications just give me a shout on here or over PM and we can work something out! |

Okay, I've edited here and there. I expect his personality to change the more he interacts with people (and kind of based him off of Tsubaki in personality), and changed his time manipulation to just that. I also removed the random chains as a partial transformation - they're now decorative and work in conjunction with his partial trans. As for the old symbol, I have no idea what it is. x3 It looks Incan to me, but I can't tell due to the picture resolution. I'll hunt down some other pics of his clothes, too. ![]() As for his sister, I'm making a character for her, too, but they will work as separate entities (as they are both Weapons). Honestly, I have little planned for Moira and Chronos together, but loads for them separately. x3 |

Remember Chronos is your character, so you get to decide ![]() Could you also look at, and update, your partial transformation? :3 I'd also like to know if there is any limit to his length / thickness. (eg: Can he turn into a chain as thick an oak tree and as tall as a skyscraper?) Could you also choose either "slow down time" or "jump forward/back time"? :3 It's just that the two different groups have wildly different implications. Could you perhaps simplify the drawbacks / set up, just so that everyone understands it and no-one can confuse it? Perhaps just a cap of so many times per hour / day / thread otherwise he gets confused and sick feeling ( or something ) As for weaknesses, why does he have a limited attack range? You mention he can extend-- so he probably has a better range than most of the melee weapons on the board :3 |

Hallo! Sorry for not getting back sooner. ^^; Anywho, I fixed a bunch of stuff, and I think I'll have the glove symbols be plot points for going back to Greece or other ancient civilizations. Added photos, added more detail in consequences, and lessened the time-manip to stopping time only (so far). To answer about limited attack range, there is only a certain distance one can effectively use a chain. Unless a person is very whip-oriented, he won't be able to do much damage. Also, he has very few attacks he can use (thus being limited in range that way). |

Description: Very clear and very well written; excellent job! History: So other RPers can interact with him more fully, who/what groups/etc tend to call him Ticker? Personality: You’ve done an excellent job of describing his default personality (that is to say, how he is normally). Could you perhaps include a few things like how he reacts or acts when he is happy, sad, or angry? (Or indeed how easily he feels these ways). You might also want to consider his stance on witches, kishin eggs, and other things that go bump in the night so you can react aptly when he goes on a mission ^^ Abilities: Could you fix the following:
In partial transformation can you make sure he is always transforming part of his body into his weapon, rather than growing his weapon form from his body? :3 He’s not a DeathScythe yet~! Also, could you make sure to specify (just so you don’t confuse your readers) that he can only have 1 chain at a time for partial transformation, as he only has 1 chain in full weapon form? In partial transformation could you please elaborate upon:
I’m still a little bit confused about the time-stop, so I hope you don’t mind me trying to rewrite it just so I can get my head about it.
To, very roughly speaking,
Though looking at my version and your version they seem really different @_@ So in your version time stops for just one second- long enough to blink but not long enough to flinch or move- and then time reasserts itself. It would be useful if the meister was partially through an attack or halfway through leaping through the air to avoid a bullet. Could you perhaps rewrite it (in your own words)- just for me? Sorry for all the effort. In your rewritten version could you please touch upon:
Strengths/Weaknesses: Could you perhaps include the strengths of his weapon form in here? Eg: Time stop, versatile weapon, etc. The strengths should let a reader know what Chronos’ best traits are when it comes down to battle time :3 Being able to stop time, or being able to slap an enemy 40 feet away certainly are things to brag about! Can you elaborate on the weaknesses a little so everyone can understand how they are a weakness? I’m a little pedantic about that these days, as I recently found a character sheet who just had ‘water’ for no reason, and no justification, as a weakness. The RPer couldn’t remember either :/ So since then I’ve been a bit more harsh when it comes to explaining weaknesses ^__^ You might want to also remove ‘limited attack range,’ as compared to a dagger or glove he’s got quite a bit! However a great weakness might be that he can’t really take down an enemy in one go, or that his weapon form doesn’t deal out too much damage. |
