The rounds of applause before Jayne came through the curtain was enough to to make the demon-rifle seethe again, but she checked her temper. The fabric parted and fell, and she perked up as the brunette leaned up against the railing next to her. She seemed apologetic for the strike against the cowgirl, muttering off about how Ellis seemed to be with the other girl and that she didn't enjoy her company... No, lass... that ain't it at all. Smiling, she straightened up, tucking the wig away into the belt like a skinned rat (stupid wigs). Her date leaned against the railing, looking up at the hidden stars, seeming... well, content. The lights from below gave her a very healthy glow, as if she were viewing the pirate in candlelight rather than streetlamp off-cast. She was pretty... and Ellis wouldn't lie. “I hate parties. All this dressing up and swanning about can't be good for a person. I'm gonna head home – would you... uh walk with me? To my home – I mean like, walk me home?” With a smile, the Winchester took her hand and brought it to her lips again. "Sure thing, dear'art. May I play for you before we go?" She brought out the fiddle she'd had tucked away, holding it aloft. With no objections, she opened the case and checked her stings, then began to play: ~One wintry night a wondrous sight I met while riding back Returning from a ceili, with me fiddle in me pack My horse, he stopped quite suddenly, his ears began to twitch He bucked and threw me pack and all into a nearby ditch I tried to rise, but then my eyes alighted on a scene Of faerie creatures dancing by, cavorting 'round their Queen She'd been out hunting, it was plain, delighted by her prize And though she was in thrall to her, I knew her gentle eyes I stood again and shouted when they drew abreast of me, "I challenge you, for you have caught my lady-soon-to-be!" They stopped and she stared down at me, the Queen astride her steed, "I see you have the courage, dear, but skill is what you need!" Be it carved from out the finest wood And strung with silver string Only mortal trust or faerie dust Can make a fiddle sing! "We each shall play and I will say which fiddle is played best, And should you win this mortal toy I'll free, without protest." They handed her a violin, as black as she was fey She placed a bow upon the strings and then began to play...~ Launching into the Faerie Queen's part, she watched Jayne closely, smiling as wickedly as she'd expect Titania or Mab themselves. Then, easing back to the standard part, she sung again, her voice feminine and slightly rough. ~My spirit low I raised my bow, I knew not where to start I looked within my lover's eyes and then within my heart My head was filled with mortal dreams, of love beneath the moon Of sun and rain and season's change, and so began my tune...~ And then... her favorite part of the song. She closed her eyes, pouring every ounce of pain that she felt in the past years into the notes, then easing into the hope and happiness she foresaw for the next. As she finished, the steady music of the verses came in, and she sung again. ~I raised my head my arms like lead my heart ablaze once more The Faerie Queen looked down at me, shaken to the core "I've played for many centuries, yet, by the stars above, You've taught me skill is not enough. It can't compare to love." Be it carved from out the finest wood And strung with silver string Only mortal trust or faerie dust Can make a fiddle sing!~ The refrain ran once more, and she finished the sound without any flourish. Packing away the instrument as the strings still hummed, she shouldered the pack and offered her hand to Jayne. "Shall we, Lady Silver?"

When Sivan first started to apologize, for the first time since they had met, Hitomi started, facing away from him with her arms crossed. She kept her eyes closed, but when he got to 'causing you nothing but grief', she couldn't help but open one of her eyes. Was he really sorry, or just copying some soap opera? Did he even know how to apologize? It seemed he was trying pretty hard. Gradually, she turned to face him, but kept her head down because a pink was visible on her cheeks. When Sivan was finished, he stood up, ready to leave her be. As he turned his back to her, Hitomi grabbed his wrist. It wasn't very polite to leave your companion all alone in the middle of a party unless you planned on returning shortly. It seemed that Sivan had planned on leaving and not coming back for her. "You can't leave a lady like myself unnattended," Hitomi said with a bit of a smirk as she looked at Sivan. Her voice was as if leaving her alone would be the worst thing someone could do. "I wouldn't want you to die or anything. Believe it or not I do consider you one of my few friends." In reality, for the time being he was her only friend. Her partner had been missing for awhile and showed no signs of returning. It was time for her to move on. "But if you insist, we shall get out of this dim light and stop disturbing these people," At that, Hitomi looped her arm around Sivan's and started to walk out. Perhaps he would follow. Afterall, it was the first time that she had touched him of her own free will. |

It seemed to work. Hitomi was walking out of the party with Sivan and this time instead of Sivan touching Hitomi. Hitomi flipped it around and had wrapped one of her arms around his. This was sort of a surprise reaction as Sivan wasn't expecting such a quick change of heart from his friend. But now the two of them were walking out of the party with the new year coming in a few minutes. It seemed they wouldn't be with the others when the time came to usher in the new year. This wasn't right. The turn of a new year was supposed to be a memorable event. Yes even if it repeated 100 time. Each time should be as memorable as the last, especially when you have wear beautiful clothes. On the inside Sivan was upset since they were dressed so nicely and the only thing they'd remember when they looked at their own clothes would be the time Hitomi slapped Sivan. "That's not right..." Sivan mumbled to himself. He quickly thought of something since the new year was about to come in. He only had a few minutes to do it. Sivan beamed as he got an idea. Something he could help Hitomi with so whenever she looked back at the dress, she'd have fond memories. "Hey Hitomi... Follow me. Sivan pulled out a map as he looked for the shorter route to where he wanted to go. He had Hitomi unhook from his arm as he then grabbed her hand and led her around staircases and through hallways. After dragging Hitomi for a few minutes, he led her through a door that came out to a balcony. He brought Hitomi close to the edge where the moon shined brightly. Sivan proceeded to hold her hand as he looked at her with a sheepish smile on his face. "Listen, I really am sorry for ruining this evening. Especially when you are dressed up and look beautiful. You should have found a good man to make a great memory with rather than a friend who talks a lot." Sivan chuckled softyl at his expense before continuing on. "It's also not fair that you also only have a horrible memory of this event when it was supposed to be a fun day and even if it isn't much. Perhaps we could just look at the stars as the clock on my cellphone counts down the new year. I mean... if you'd like to that is. Sivan smiled widely has pulled out the cell phone showing that in a few minutes, the new year would come in for them. |

"Uh okay," Hitomi said as Sivan grabbed her hand and led her out onto the balcony. She looked up at the sky for the moment, then back at him as he started to speak. She blushed when called beautiful, but thought he was mistaken through what he had said. Near the end of the night, he did listen to her and that was all she could ask. She wanted someone who would listen at least a little bit. When Sivan stopped speaking, Hitomi started, "Sivan, I believe you've got it all wrong," a smile drew upon her face, "This evening has been quite pleasant. Nothing has been ruined. And tonight will certainly not keep as a bad memory." Although she wouldn't tell him, all he had needed to do was listen a little bit. Besides, he had saved her from being alone on New Years Eve, even though she had been surrounded by people the whole time. Those people, however, were all strangers who took no interest in her. She was glad to have bumped into him once again. "I would love nothing more than to watch the stars with you." Hitomi then surprised herself. Her heart seemed to beat silently as her courage was gathered up. When she was least expecting it, who knew if he was expecting it, Hitomi kissed Sivan's cheek. Blushing and smiling at the same time, she turned to face the stars and leaned on the railing. "So this year you're going to make my dress right?" Hitomi smirked at Sivan playfully as she looked at him, the clock counting down. People inside were calling out the seconds now. |

Sivan smiled wider and wider as he heard her speak. It seemed she had agreed to his plan and that she was forgetting about the rather violent incident that had occurred in the party. When she agreed to watching the stars, sivan was going to answer but he was blocked before he could speak. Sivanw as actually kissed by a girl. Sure it wasn't an on the lips kiss and more of a friendly kiss on the cheek, but it seemed this girl who who had given a bad experience originally was now warming up to him. Sivan took it as a friendly thing since she enjoyed herself. Sivan just smile wilder as he stood next to her watching the stars. She then asked about the dress with a smug smile. Sivan couldn't help but bust out laughing. "Of course of course. A girl beautiful like you though could use any dress she liked to get any boy she wants. But I'll still make you a dress that'll make that special boy you want fall for you. I guarantee it." sivan said with a wide smile. In the distance the final seconds counted down. 4, 3, 2, 1.... Sivan slightly looked up into Hitomi's eyes as he smiled. "Happy New year's Hitomi." His signature smile appearing once more as he gave Hitomi a peck on her cheek. " The rule is that a kiss right when new year's strike equals good luck for the rest of the year so my dad says. Sivan paused as the moment sunk in before Sivan continued being his usual self. " Well then since you're alone at the moment this doesn't count as cheating with your future boyfriend and I say that since you will be getting one after you see the dress I have planned for you. As for now though, I believe we should head home." Sivan held out his hand awaiting a response from Hitomi. |

Hitomi giggled as Sivan spoke again. Does that mean. . . . maybe I could get you? She pushed away the thought as she grinned. She couldn't really like Sivan, could she? The same guy that had forcefully taken her sizes without permission and who didn't listen until earlier that evening, but she felt something tugging at her heart. It was pulling her along. It was the thing making her blush at most of his words. "Happy-" Hitomi was cut off by her own shock. Sivan kissed her cheek. Her heart seemed to beat louder, at least to her it seemed. Her face when redder than a tomato as she looked down, trying to hide it. "I hope good luck is what I'll receive then," Hitomi said with a smile as she looked at Sivan. Everything seemed to be at ease at that moment. Calming down, Sivan spoke again. 'Perhaps it would not be cheating,' where the words Hitomi was afraid to say aloud. He would probably laugh at her or something of the sort. Her courage had been all used up for the night. More than likely it would not return for a long time since she had used up so much of it. She was glad she had done so though. "Yes, I suppose we should," Hitomi said as she took his hand. He was oblivious to her feelings, but for that time it was fine with her. It would be fine with her for awhile. That same sincere smile was stuck on her face as the night ended. New Years Ever would be kept in her heart as a very fond memory indeed. |
