Staring off and away from Sivan, Hitomi jumped when someone's hand tapped her shoulder. She focused back on what was going on around her and saw another girl standing there, someone older than she was. The look on the girl's face was caring, but she didn't seem to be smiling. When the girl spoke, she didn't know what to say. Sivan hadn't exactly been bothering her, well before he had been, but now he was just sitting there it seemed. Biting the inside of her cheek, she didn't know what she thought or what she should say. The way the girl was looking at her made her feel slightly uneasy, she wasn't sure if she'd rather go off with the girl or stay with Sivan. "Well. . . . " Hitomi started out, just trying to let the words come out, even if they didn't make much sense at all, "I don't exactly know anyone else here. . . . " she said akwardly. She shrugged her shoulders forward and tried to make herself seem smaller. She didn't want to upset the girl in front of her, but she also didn't want to make Sivan mad at her. He was afterall, going to make her a dress someday. |

The movie was quite an odd movie. It wasn't as childish as Hitomi said it would have been. In fact is was rather amusing as the two men vied for the affection of the leading lady. Sivan was encompassed by the movie as he stared. It was after all a movie time, and who would be touching a lady when a movie was on? That's just poor movie etiquette. So Sivan gave attention to the movie as his arms were on his lap. He had no intention of being the normal touchy self he was when the movie was playing. This no doubt surprise Hitomi as she would have probably been expecting only touches from Sivan, but Sivan was a bit odd like that. He would have continued enjoying the movie as well until a rather skinny effeminate looking man had come onto the scene. His suit was quite the beauty as Sivan wished he made something like that, but his attention snapped back to the situation at hand. It seemed from Sivan's point of view that this man knew Hitomi. Sivan didn't hear what the man had said, but Hitomi was talking to him in a tone that she used to talk to sivan as well on occasions. Taking these into account, Sivan came upon to conclusions, they were either dating, or they were friends, but Sivan leaned more towards the dating spectrum since both of them looked very dressed up compared to how some of the others looked. A wide smile formed on Sivan's face as he decided to go with his gut instinct. Sivan's arm gripped Hitomi's arm as he stood her up to meet face to face with her probably late boyfriend. Sivan then proceeded to bow to the quite well dressed men with the gaudy fashion. "Good evening Sir. My name is Sivan. Sivan spoke formally to Hitomi's supposed boyfriend. Afterall, Sivan did not want to get into any misunderstandings that could lead to the fancier version of a brawl, fisticuffs. Well Sivan assumed fisticuffs was fancy fighting because of the fancy name. "It seems you have come her to pick up your date? I did not know that Hitomi had an attractive boyfriend as well. I was merely in her company since we knew each other from before and have become good friends." Sivan would compliment a person of any gender, after all it was his job to make sure people looked good and it wasn't only about women looking good. A good seamstress would focus on both genders equally, so Sivan lost no expense in making sure Hitomi's supposed boyfriend was complimented for his looks and outfit as well. "Well it seems I will now become the third wheel of the situation. Sivan chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head. He knew he'd lose his friend for the remainder of the night, but he could handle being alone until new year's came. After a normal seamstress would be back in their workshop taking solace that their dress or suits were out in the world becoming part of memories. Sivan couldn't enjoy this moment yet, but next year he would once he gained notoriety. So to follow tradition, even if Sivan didn't make the dress or suit himself, he couldn't deny Hitomi a night with her late date. "Well it seems you two have some catching up to do since the new year's will ring soon. Sivan bowed once more as he motioned Hitomi to leave. He still had a movie to finish and then cheer for the new year coming in. After that he might as well go home and get to work on clothing for next year. Being lonely was part of the job description Sivan though as he looked at the movie smiling softly at the weaker man being overshadowed. He wondered how the man would come back to win the love of his life. |

Jayne turned to look at where Ellis was going. It was only a few seats back, where it seemed she was intervening on behalf of some woman who had found herself with a cur for a date. Jayne frowned – she certainly wouldn't have interceded on the girl's behalf. Maybe one bad date would teach her to be more careful next time – it wasn't as though she was in real danger after all. Not only that, but Jayne couldn't help feeling anyone unable to at least tell a person to piss off if they were being a prat was more than a little bit feeble. Of course Jayne's method for telling someone to take a hike was to throw them out of the nearest window, but she was a lenient woman and realised that most people thought a verbal rebuff was enough, which the pirate weapon would have been willing to accede. Jayne sighed, sitting back in her seat. She was about to put her feet up on the chair in front of her before realising she was wearing a dress and quickly stopping herself. If Ellis felt the need to save a damsel in distress then Jayne wasn't going to stop her – after all Jayne probably hadn't been the most... satisfying of dates. Ellis had probably hoped for someone who would fall into her arms, and make the world all light and glow-y with lots of sparkle and bloom and such. The only thing Jayne was likely to fall into was a fit of bad temper. The person in front of Jayne was guffawing in a loud stupid voice and it was starting to get on the girl's nerves. With a quick glance about to make sure Ellis was still preoccupied Jayne booted the seat as hard as she could. The person turned to glare at Jayne, only to find their own face inches from hers. “Feelin' lucky, Punk?” Growled the weapon. She head butted the young lad on the bridge of his nose sending him reeling back clutching at the facial appendage as blood started to spurt out, and leered as he fled from the seat and left the room. Sitting back with a blissful sigh Jayne smiled – she had managed to work out some of her tension AND she had a better view of the screen - it was win-win. Idly, the pirate weapon wondered if her date was going to come back. Ellis had seemed the type bound to her word, rather than someone fickle who would flit away with the next pretty thing, but there was something at the bottom of Jayne's gut telling her that she was just luckily Ellis hadn't run screaming when they'd first met. Twisting in her seat once more, Jayne clapped eyes on Ellis with some large breasted girl being thrust upon her by the so called date. Frowning Jayne continued to watch the scene unfold, flexing her hands – someone wanted punching here but she would have to work out if it was going to be,
Jayne should have known by now that she could never go on a date without one or more people ending up in the hospital. |

Well, this certainly isn't going as planned. Having the girl she was supposedly "dating" (even though they were nothing of the sort, being that Ellis' first date in months was with Jayne - Oh God! Jayne! I hope she doesn't misunderstand!) shoved precariously into her arms, she was equally as surprised to find that the lad was not only good mannered, but rather apologetic over the whole course. Then, he stated that they should go off and "ring in the new year" (whatever that meant in his mind, she had no idea) and sat back to watch the movie again. Seeing as how the girl - Hitomi, he'd said - was more unsure than uncomfortable, she gave both a warm smile. Best not to ruffle too many feathers. "Ellis Winchester. Actually, Messer Sivan, though I thank ye for th' kindness, I've never met this bonnie lass afore. She just seemed a right..." Glancing to Hitomi, she finished as tactfully as possible, "...unsure. I only wanted ta make sure she was all right." Looking back to the girl in her arms, she stepped back and patted her hand gently. "If i's a'ight with you, Miss Hitomi, I've got me own lovely lady ta attend. Will ye be a'ight?" Glancing back to Jayne, she stiffened slightly, seeing the look of extreme intensity on the brunette's face. She had nothing to worry about, either of them; Ellis had done nothing but obey her code - no cheating, no flirting, only ensuring the safety and well-being of others. Hopefully, there was no misunderstanding. Thinking on that train, she hoped Hitomi was going to be all right. She was sure that bringing the girl to sit with them would only make Jayne upset, and likely get someone hurt. Speaking of which, wasn't there someone sitting in front of her before? |

Sivan came onto the scene. He grabbed Hitomi's arm and lifted her up so they were both standing. This surprised her because she was led to believe he was completely engrossed in the movie. They were probably causing a scene by now. People behind them were glaring. She let her head hang, upset and disappointed. It wasn't like her though. She was acting out of character, but she couldn't help but feel hurt that he wasn't listening. Maybe she did think of him as a friend, maybe after all the crap he had done she kinda sorta had a super tiny crush on him. Maybe. Even after forcefully taking her measurements she kinda liked him a little bit. Maybe. Hitomi stood there, in silence. Her hands turned into fists as her head hung down. He thought they were friends, but he didn't listen. He didn't listen at all. As the other girl finished speaking, she turned and smacked Sivan hard enough to leave a red mark. She couldn't help but be pissed off and upset with him. How dare he think of them as friends and then not even care to listen to her. How dare he. "I'll be fine, thank you," Hitomi said respectfully before reclaiming her seat. She folded her hands in her lap and sat up straight. She would keep all of her attention on the movie, even if it was pretty cheesy. She didn't want to deal with Sivan right then. She wanted to forget everything, even if it was only for a little while. Maybe afterwards she would feel a little better. Maybe then she could deal with him, but not now. |

SMASH Well it wasn't really a smash since it was a slap, it sounded more like a clap and it probably left a few people staring in awe at the duo. Well Sivan had to agree with Hitomi's slap since he had jumped the gun in the heat of the moment. Sivan casted glances around. He was probably the definite enemy of a few people around here since he got hit by a girl. Being hit by a girl in a formal party was definitely an alarm for something was going. Sivan wanted to smile it off like he usually did, but something small and very tiny at the back of his head had begun to nudge in the right direction for once. It seemed to be telling him that Hitomi was genuinely upset about something, and it was definitely not the chair issue. Sivan felt he needed to do something to help ease whatever it was that was bugging Hitomi, but before he could do that. The tiny conscious at the back of his head seemed to be telling him something else he had needed to do. The supposed boyfriend. The person that Sivan had mistaken for Hitomi's boyfriend was still there and had witnessed it all. Sivan stood up as he bowed to the attractive male once more. One of his hand was placed on Ellis's shoulder as Sivan leaned foward. He casted one of his more cheerful smiles towards Ellis as he spoke once more. "Before you stay any longer and let your own date suffer. I think it would be best if you went back. I'm sure you wouldn't want the person you brought here to suffer cause of my own stupidity." Sivan chuckled once more as he tried to send Ellis away back to her own date. As for the busty and attractive female who sat next to him. Sivan didn't know what to do. He had no idea if it was his own fault or is she was upset about something else. She had been uncomfortable since she sat in the supposedly uncomfortable chair. So it was definitely before this whole event happend, and yet the tiny conscious that finally decided to make its debut told Sivan that in the very least he should apologize for his own actions. So like a rom com? Sivan had watched a few of the movies with his friends, usually to just make fun of them but it seemed they were a guide to being social with women like Hitomi. The movies always said that the men would go out of their way to apologize even if they felt they did nothing wrong. Just doing that would seem to appease the females of their affection, but the question is, would it work here? Sivan Realized Rom Coms only worked because the two targets liked each other. Hitomi was just a good friend of Sivan. So wouldn't the magic or whatever it's called that makes Rom com life work fail in this case? Sivan tried arguing with the conscious in his head but in the end, Sivan bowed down to his new way of thinking that came. Sivan would try to do this like a romantic comedy. Sivan quickly assessed the steps of a successful romantic comedy apology. 1. Have a soft obedient tone. 2. Be sorry for everything that you have done. 3. Keep your space. 4.Always sound pitiful in the end. Sivan sighed a bit as he glanced over to Hitomi who was focused on the movie. She was definitely upset about something. Here goes something then. Sivan leaned to his side as he took a deep breathe in. Taking a deep breathe after all makes it seem like you have something important to say. "Um Hitomi? I... I just wanted to say I'm sorry, even if you are tuning me out right now." which sivan doubted since they were so close together, but still Sivan had to do it by the book. "I've done some pretty stupid things today, what with the electric fan, the dragging you where I go, as well as the whole mix up with the boyfriend thing. I am really stupid in what I have done and have done nothing but cause you grief this whole time. This was supposed to be a great party where you should have found someone to enjoy your time with, and yet your here with me just getting frustrated. I'm really sorry for ruining your evening. I should have known better. I understand if you want to stop being my friend since I have been horrible. I should have taken your thoughts into more consideration but I didn't. Ummm... well I'll just leave you to yourself then since you probably want me to go crawl into a ditch and die. I'm really sorry Hitomi." Sivan dropped his head before he sat up straight in his seat. Taking a glance to the exit, he stood up and walked away. If his conscious was right, even if Hitomi did nothing tonight. The next time they meet wouldn't be full of pure hatred and face slaps. Well, would you look at that... boys can learn for a change. Smiling, Ellis knelt to keep from blocking the view of the screen further, laying one hand gently on Hitomi's arm. "It may not be my place, lass, but I believe 'im. Have a good nigh', mi'lady." Patting the voluptuous girl's arm lightly, the "Herald-Mage" took to her feet again and walked back to her seat. By now, the film was well in (if not half over) and she approached her seat with a slight twinge of unease. Jayne looked like she was ready to beat someone into next week, and if the action came Ellis wanted to keep as many innocent bystanders as possible from harm. This was, after all, her fault. She should take responsibility for the outcome. Sliding carefully back into her seat, Ellis placed her hands in her lap and sat silently for a moment, waiting for any backlash or comment. She figured it would be best to explain herself per question until the movie was over, then have a talk in private. Her lovely corsair would need to know everything that happened and why, lest there be a misunderstanding. She hoped there would be none. Personally, she liked Jayne's fiery spirit and her spunk... and that the girl could speak her mind and stand up for herself... Sighing heavily, she wondered if she ruined this with a thoughtless act to check the welfare of another rather than spend time with the girl she'd brought here. She hoped not, but that was certainly how it looked. "Jayne..." |

So Ellis was standing around with a big titted woman. Who cares? It wasn't like Jayne had wanted to go on a date anyway, and certainly not a date with another woman. The pirate girl scowled wondering why it was that she couldn't stop looking back to make sure nothing inappropriate was going on. After a while she almost convinced herself that the three were friends or that Ellis knew those people or something – that was until big tits slapped the boy, the boy looked shame faced, said something and left, and Ellis went down on one knee for the other girl AND placed her hand on the girl's knee. With an audible growl Jayne turned back to the screen. What else could it be? Internally one part of her was trying to calm down the rage, trying to rationalise and suggest alternative situations for the evidence at hand. There was soon a rustle of clothes as Ellis sat down next to Jayne in silence. It wasn't the good kind of silence that Jayne had experienced while dancing, but an awkward kind of silence where words are being left unsaid by both parties, although they desperately wanted them to be out in the open. Jayne's hands tightened into fists, and to her shame tears were welling in her eyes (tears of anger of course, and Jayne would punch anyone who said otherwise). Thankfully the darkness of the amphitheatre would hide most of her shame, as the only real illumination came from the screen in front of her, which Jayne was so desperately pretending to watch. She struggled to restrain herself from beating up Ellis. After all Jayne had tried her best to make it a good night, despite the unwelcome surprise that her date was a woman, and the pirate girl had thought the date had been going well. She hadn't even shouted at Ellis or anything, or punched anyone – at least not that Ellis knew of. So it must only have been Jayne that had been enjoying the date, and Ellis (it seemed at that moment) had been bored, or worse, appalled. “Jayne...” Began Ellis. She sounded like she had something difficult to say, and Jayne's mind quickly filled in the blanks 'I really haven't been enjoying this date, and I want to go talk to big titted women' or 'it's not you it's me' or 'let's be friends still okay?'. Jayne really didn't want Ellis to finish whatever it was she was saying, and she really didn't want Ellis to see how upset she was. One of Jayne's fists flicked out in her natural form of defence – attack. Seems it was going to be option A (punch Ellis) although considering how upset she was, Jayne wouldn't have minded going for a new option – option E (punch everybody). “Yes?” Said Jayne, with as much dignity as she could muster. The girl wiped her eyes quickly to dispose of any evidence that she had been upset. Jayne was willing to listen to what Ellis said, because deep inside she still hoped that there could be an explanation for everything - but at the same time if Ellis said what Jayne thought she was going to say there would probably be more punching involved. At least (she thought) if Ellis decided to leave her, now it would be for a good reason, rather than just Jayne being an uninteresting/unattractive date. The pain in Jayne's voice stung her more than any strike she could have received. Way to go, big-shot - you've gone and made her upset. Taking a deep breath, she looked over at her date and saw... tears. She's crying? Oh no... "Jayne... I'm so sorry. I don' mean nothin' be 'elpin' 'er... She just looked so upset... Please don' shed anymore tears, lass... I don' want ta be reason for ya tears..." Frustration dawned on her as people behind her kicked her seat for being disturbed during the movie. With a deep-throated growl, the cowgirl leapt up from her chair and kicked it square into the face of the person behind her. "Can't a lad 'ave a moment of PEACE wi'out all y'all bein' utter thick-'eaded CODS? Cor! Tryin' ta tell me lass tha' me 'onor says I 'elp a lady in distress an' tha' I got NO intres' in ANYBODY else t'night but 'er, AND Y'ALL ARE BEIN' BLOODY CHILDISH FOOLS! Bugger ta all of ye, and I 'ope ya learn some bloody MANNERS in th' next year!" Breathing heavily at her outraged burst of cursing and bellowing, she noted that a good number of people were now staring at her (including the people sitting next to the boy she'd kicked the chair into). Frankly, she didn't care. She'd had enough of people whispering around and being mockingbirds with nothing useful to say or do. So, she acted instead. Swooping down with the grace of someone desperate, she lifted Jayne's chin and kissed her gently on the lips, taking advantage of everyone's shock to do so unscathed. "Ye don' deserve a fool li'e me, my lovely corsair. Fin' a man who's good ta ye, but won' be distracted by simple plights. Though, I think you're the prettiest lass o' th' ball, Lady Silver." Pulling back, Ellis strode from the room quickly, looking at no one else as she walked briskly to a balcony, silence and the movie dialogue in her wake. Once she was past the curtains (drawn shut for the movie), she rested her hands on the balcony and bowed her head. How could she be so stupid? How could she have gone and made the first girl who'd made even the smallest amount of effort at liking her cry? It didn't matter that she'd done the right thing for Hitomi-- Jayne was who mattered tonight, and she blew it. The only thing she could do now was hope the fallout didn't get her expelled or killed (either was possible at this school). Wordlessly, she pulled the black wig from her head and clenched it tightly in her fist as the wind blew through her short, sweaty, blood-colored hair. Tonight was supposed to be the end of the pain, and now she'd opened a new wound not only in herself but an innocent woman. How was that honorable? And how was it moving on? Maybe... it just ain't for me. Maybe I ain't meant for human company. |

Jayne was about to protest that there were no tears, and that she wasn't upset, and that Ellis could go and muck about with whoever she wanted to muck about with, when the cowgirl in question exploded. Almost literally exploded – there was a lot of upwards and outwards motion at least and quite a bit of collateral physical damage. Things went flying. People caught chairs in faces. The movie continued but the watching had stopped, and now everyone was turned towards the outburst as Ellis roared at some hapless fool, about an inch from his face. Jayne froze, suddenly finding herself at the centre of a lot of unwelcome attention, along with her date, and the boy who now had a chair firmly clutched to his chest. Option E was starting to look more and more like a reality, as a number of other students stood in their place, unsure as to whether or not they should be helping the boy under attack, or merely watching the scene unfold. In the back ground the music for the silent movie changed as the woman was snatched from the arms of her rightful lover by the man she had given up, but still most people were concerned with the potential brawl that was about to break out. Bugger ta all of ye, and I 'ope ya learn some bloody MANNERS in th' next year!" Without warning Ellis swooped down, tilting Jayne's face upwards, stealing a brief kiss from the surprised weapon. Jayne's eyebrows shot up in surprise, and a small feeling of surprised happiness coiled in her belly, leaving less room for being upset. "Ye don' deserve a fool li'e me, my lovely corsair. Fin' a man who's good ta ye, but won' be distracted by simple plights. Though, I think you're the prettiest lass o' th' ball, Lady Silver." Ellis turned and left Jayne sitting in place – for the first time rather out of things to punch. “fuck” The lights flickered on but there was no sign of Ellis as a couple of teachers stormed in, ready to break up any fight. Luckily none had broken out, and they were left at loose ends as one or two of the more foolish students started to clap – and soon they were followed by more, until half the room was applauding the performance. Feeling extremely embarrassed Jayne fled. She wanted to catch up with Ellis, and also to escape the whistling and the clapping. As the pirate girl managed to make her way out to the balcony, the teachers were settling the students, although the movie was very nearly over. It was nearly midnight now, and Shinigami had a word or two to say before everyone popped the corks on their champaign and heralded in the new year. Bursting out into the fresh air, Jayne breathed deep. She didn't usually feel claustrophobic, but being the centre of attention had a way of burning up the oxygen in a room. Ellis was already there, although with short red hair, Jayne almost thought it was someone else as she hadn't realised Ellis was wearing a wig. Hesitantly Jayne walked to lean on the balcony beside her date. “Uh, jeese, I didn't really mean to bloody hit ya so fucking hard, just a bit of a love tap, you know? I mean... I thought you were with some other girl, I mean she does have bigger tits... boobs... she's bigger.” Jayne felt slightly frustrated at being unable to say what she meant. She had never been good at apologies either. “What I mean is – I maybe jumped to conclusions a little bit. Sometimes I do that. I'm … er sorry. I was only upset 'cause I was really enjoying tonight and then I thought you went off to be with some other chick and figured you mustn't have enjoyed it as much as me 'n'... stuff. I guess that was kinda fucking stupid of me. I kinda buggered everything up didn't I?” Jayne sighed and leaned back to look up at the stars. It was a little difficult to see them in Shibusen, as the whole place hardly ever seemed to sleep, and the light pollution from Death City was enough to blot out all but the strongest of stars. “I hate parties. All this dressing up and swanning about can't be good for a person. I'm gonna head home – would you... uh walk with me? To my home – I mean like, walk me home?” |
