Shinigami, the Grim Reaper, was preoccupied. Some cruel student had accidentally left an unsolved Rubix cube behind when they had finished their mission debrief. The ancient Lord Death had tried to resist its siren call, but eventually had pounced on it, and with more vocal onomatopoeia one would expect, began to try to solve it. Sadly, he wasn’t terribly good at it and was just making it more and more unsolved with each passing minute. It was exasperating beyond belief. Whenever he was closing to finishing one side there would inadvertently be one colour somewhere else, then he’d mess everything up trying to get it into the right spot. An eye-hole in his mask twitched angrily.

”Nuuuuuu! If you don’t get solved soon I’ll direct noggin’ chop you!”

He threatened to the puzzle. Why wouldn’t it solve itself?! There was a knock at the door the principal elected to ignore, preferring to work on the rebellious rubix cube. Eventually a pair of boys appeared, saying something about going on a mission, or kishin eggs or some such.

”Yo ho ho! What an excellent idea, you’re all so smart and -- rar!”

He was talking in his trade mark ‘baby voice,’ and treating the teenagers as if they were no more than toddlers showing off a picture they drew. He’d almost solved two sides of the puzzle when an absent minded twist ruined it all. The rubix cube foiled him again.

”Shinigami Chop!”

I'm not entirely sure what you guys wanted, so I'm sorry if this isn't it ^^; I've got a rough plot figured out once we get to Canada, so feel free to stay at Shibusen for as long as you want, or to go straight to Canada. Just tell me what you like ^_^

OOC: Nah it's ok.

IC: Lukas Schneider has been around Shibusen for a while, but all the extra-curricular activitites he and his partner have had were always in Death City. To fix this, he had convinced Dr. Stein to put in a good word for them when he spoke to Shinigami. Apparently, Dr. Stein had convinced him to let them have a mission in the neighbor country, Canada. In order to have the full details.

As they entered the Death Room, Lukas & Sven saw that Lord Death was trying to solve a rubix cube. Shinigami saw them, and greeted them with his usual comical voice, something that Lukas had grown to love and that Sven had grown to despise. He couldn't believe that the strongest mand on this planet looked like he came out straight out of a comic book. In any case, after debriefing them on the situation, Lord Death unintentionally twisted the cube.

”Shinigami Chop!”

Lord Death had destroyed the beautiful rubix cube. Although he didn't seem to mind that sudden outburst, Lukas promised himself to show him how to properly solve that puzzle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The plane that connected Death City and Montreal had finally took off. Lukas and Sven were inside and conveniently sat down at the second class section. I guess this is Shinigami-sama's way to say sorry for not focusing his attention on us. That was unusual though... As the first two hours passed, Lukas quickly fell asleep.
"Food, food, we want more food!" Monsters that had taken the guise of humans had attacked New York City. Everywhere, people were screaming. "Don't worry boys, your old man will defend you!" Some of these monsters came attacking them. Lazarius and Mr. Schneider had done all they could to defend the family, but it was not enough...
Soon enough, both his parents were laying on the floor, in a small pond of red liquid. "Where are you, Lazarius? Mom and Dad are... Lazarius? LAZARIUS!"
Lukas woke up at the end of the trip, trying to regain composure over the dream he just had. I can't let these events get the best of me. I have to concentrate on the mission at hand. He took a chocolate bar and ate a big chunk out of it, which made him feel much better.
Sven and Lukas had been called for a mission in Montreal, Canada. It was in the winter time, so there was sure to be snow over there. It was thanks to Dr. Stein's intervention that both of them could take a mission in the outside world. He had wanted to test his skills for some time in another place than Death City, as he had already devoured a total of 12 kishin eggs. I'm still far from becoming a Death Scythe, but I will do it without the noble family's help.
As both him and Lukas entered the room, Lord Death was desperately trying to solve a rubix cube. The holes that served him as eyes had all kinds of expression, but mostly frustration could be read from them. When Lord Shinigami finally noticed their presence, he debriefed them about thier mission in Canada, with the soft, comical voice he was now known for. Ugh, this voice is so annoying! I have deep respect for him, I want to become strong enough to team up with him, but how can someone this powerful looks like he came straight out a manga! I can't believe it!
The debriefing finished, Sven went towards the exit. When he looked for Lukas, he saw his partner looking at Lord Death mistakenly twisting the cube in defavorable position.
”Shinigami Chop!”
----------------------------------------------------------------
The plane that connected Death City and their destination, Montreal, was finallly taking off. It wasn't the first time Sven took the plane. When he was still with his family, his father would take him to all his business trips to learn more about Death Scythes, Kishins and all the things related to Demon Weapons, Meisters and, ultimately, souls. The two first hours, and Lukas seemed to have gone in a deep sleep. He didn't feel like taking a nap; in fact, he had plenty of energy from the breakfast he had prepared for himself. He kept thinking of all the plan he had made, and his decision to join Shibusen. I think everything I did was good, now we have to concentrate at the task at end.
The plane had finally landed as they arrived at Montreal's main airport, Pierre-Elliot Trudeau.
With the harsh squeal of breaks and tarmac, the plane touched down and circled into its landing bay. An air hostess straightened up from her seat, self consciously tugging at her slightly-too-short dress, before giving the passengers a quick run down of how to exit, the local temperature and time, and wishing them all the best of luck with all their enterprises.
The airport itself was rather bland. A rather depressing shade of light grey seemed to dominate the landscape, with sombre floors, apathetic ceilings and rather unobtrusive walls that seemed to shirk gazes. The shops, as if they were rather embarrassed of the decor, seemed extra colourful and cheery. Many of the signs had smiley faces or clowns drawn on, and all of the counters and banners were in bright and cheerful colours. The boys were given a chance to play in the airport and spend their much-needed mission allowances, before customs called. The guards there were initially very suspicious of the two 'punk lookin kids,' but when one of the guards saw the small shinigami motif on one of them, quickly ushered them through the checkpoints with profuse apologies. A small monorail connected the airport to the city, with the free pods leaving every fifteen minutes.
The air outside of the buildings and trains was blisteringly cold, with howling gales rocketing down the open streets, and sending violent plumes of powder-like snow from the drifts that spread across the pedestrian walkways. A weak, bright sun laughed down at the Shibusen pair and illuminated the hodge-podge city of Montreal. The buildings looked as if they had been stolen from every period of time and every possible location; with humble English cottages sitting next to giant American skyscrapers or long rows of Italian apartments. Indeed, some of the buildings looked so unusual they seemed to defy even the immutable laws of gravity. While the artificial landscape was a bewildering mess of cultures, the natural landscape made up for it with its peaceful serenity. The world was a frozen wonderland, with icicle-white bull rushes standing at guard over the solid ponds that dotted the city like the acne of a high school student. The city was alive with activity, with adults, children and families rushing through the buildings, parks and water features for a thousand different tasks that could not wait another moment.
But through all of the activity and hustle, there was a single figure that did not move. A smart looking business lady sat on a snow-covered bench, her knees crossed and her green eyes watching the passer byes. Her blue hair had been done up in a pair of buns that gave her head the shape of a frog or mouse, and not a single stray hair floated free of the 'do. The woman held a large leather briefcase under one arm, and a small sheaf of paper in the other.
Hope I described your city okay? I haven't been there, so I'm having to guess what it's like ^^;;
OOC: Sorry for the late post.
IC: The plane finally landed in the city of Montreal, one of the most populated cities in all of Canada, next to Toronto. It was freezing paradise that gave a feel of serenity and, looking at the great amount of green and blue recycle bins, Lukas couldn't help but think that this place had people that wanted to save the environment. Although he wasn't active in the movement to save the planet, he was a conscious person, notably because it was the least he can do to heal planet Earth; it was also because his partner, Sven, was someone who, surprisingly compared to his condescending, was someone who was very active in saving the planet.
Lukas also took the time to contemplate the great mixture of cultures that was present in Montreal, especially when it came to restaurants. In the street he was walking, he had could identify five nations: Haiti, Italy, USA, Romania & Lebanon. Lukas had never tried haitian food, and he really wanted to try it out. He was able to convince Sven to go eat over there and they could discuss their plan of action for the mission. As Lukas & Sven walked inside the restaurant, Lukas' noticed a business woman sitting on a bench covered with snow. She had beautiful green eyes, but what caught Lukas' attention was definitely her blue hair which was tied in an unusual way, giving her the appearance of a frog or a mouse. She had a business briefcase, and a small sheath of paper in under one of her arms. Lukas looked at her, and for a second, thought she was observing him with a fierce look. I'm probably just paranoid, but still... He stared at her for about three seconds, and decided that it was best to stop doing that.
Lukas and his partner went inside in the restaurant and asked for a typical haitian dish. Both Shibusen student were given a dish that not only looked good, but was delicious. It was like heaven in a dish. While eating, Lukas brought the mission.
Have you noticed the woman on the bench? I don't know why but I have a bad feeling about her...
OOC: I was kind of busy so I did not have time to post, but here I am!
IC: As the plane landed, Sven looked outside. Used to traveling in all sorts of countries, it was however the first time that he ever went to Canada. After all the procedures necessary to let the passengers take off, Sven and Lukas, using the money supplied by Shibusen, took a cab that led them to the heart of Montreal, in its downtown. It kind of reminded him of New York, but it was a bit smaller, but just as lively. Sven was impressed by the way Montreal had included a wide array of nations into its gastronomy, and he concluded that this city was mostly a multicultural place. The Demon Weapon was also very pleased to see the amount of environmental awareness that this city provided to its citizens, and, ultimately, the way citizens acted towards this.
However, he knew that the mission came first and so, he looked for anything that would look rather unusual. It's hard to think that Kishin Eggs would attack in this city without fear off being totally exposed and killed. They must be either confident of their abilities, or they are incompetent fools... As he and his partner walked around, he noticed a woman sitting on bench covered in a flashy white snow that seemed quite comfortable. She had green eyes and blue hair that seemed to be arranged in a way to look like a mouse. She was gorgeous, but seemed to be a rather important person, as her clothing, briefcase and piece of paper gave off a vibe that she did business with important companies. Sven looked at his partner, and noticed that Lukas was looking at the woman with an air of curiosity. There is something odd about this woman. Even Lukas can sense it, but it seems that neither of us can figure her out. We'll just have to think something up.
Lukas proposed to go eat at a Haitian restaurant. Sven thought that Lukas was again trying to do a little tourism while on a mission, but he felt hungry, so he just accepted the proposition. They ordered a traditional Haitian dish, and when the food came, Sven couldn't help but eat the food. While they enjoying this meal, Lukas started talking seriously about the mission. Sven was surprised, but he knew that even Lukas was someone with a great sense of justice, and that eating food was just his way to give them strength before hunting the Kishin Eggs.
Have you noticed the woman on the bench? I don't know why but I have a bad feeling about her...
Yeah, I noticed her too. Best case scenario, we are just not trusting the people here since it is the first time both of us come here. However, worst case scenario... She's one of the three Kishin Eggs that we have to hunt. I think we should quietly follow her, and if she is a Kishin Egg, we should capture and make her talk. She might know the location of the other Eggs.
After eating their meal and agreeing on this course of action, both DWMA students went outside to follow the mysterious "Mouse Woman" (as Sven called her), in the most unnoticeable way as possible.
The ‘mouse woman’ had a clear view of the main pedestrian path that passed just 10 meters in front of her. There was a constant stream of people who passed in front of her, each with their head down and their headwear all firmly in place to better weather the strong winds that buffeted at them. Every person was carefully scrutinised by the green eyed woman, who seemed to all but glare at them as she studied them for something. Many families and children passed her by without incident, and the woman remained as deathly still as ever, with only those emerald orbs moving rapidly from individual to individual. Finally, a reaction. Striding down the pathway was a young fellow; with long black dreadlocks that hung down to his shoulder-blades, a heavy hessian shirt, and brightly colours pants that looked like an explosion had gone off in a paint factory. The tall fellow strode down the path as if he were walking along a sun-lit beach, with his eyes staring in wonder at the delicate natural beauties. Upon sighting this brazen hippie the business woman jumped to her feet, and with strong, intent steps made a bee-line directly towards the man.
The strong gales that ripped across Montreal seemed to neglect the woman. Neither her smart business suit nor her tightly bound hair drifted in the violent breezes, while about her dense plumes of snow flakes and lost articles of clothing were thrown about at the whims of the wind. She strode up to the man, and turned a smile on and off. The gesture had never reached her eyes, and had seemed as robotic as flicking a switch on and off. She engaged him in conversation for a few minutes, pointing to things on the sheaf of paper, before the pair moved away, deeper into the park and towards a private clump of trees. The dreadlocked man’s eyes seemed dull and insipid now, and his gait was clumsy and slow, almost as if he had been drugged. If one were to glance at their souls, they would be quick to realise the malign kishin soul of the business woman had somehow doped the innocent soul of the hippie, who now seemed as complacent as a sheep.
No citizen noticed the transaction that was occurring. The vast majority were focussed on getting to their warm, cosy destination as quickly as possible, or were too wrapped up in their own world to see the attractive woman and the man moving away to private location. Any who did, well, they drew their own conclusions about what would be happening.
As both Sven & Lukas finished their delicious meal, they came up with a simple plan to figure out who was that "Mouse Woman", who seemed rather... odd. It was a feeling that Sven could not shake off, and it always seemed that there was a ominous aura around that woman. Sven decided that they should follow her, suggesting Lukas to be extremely careful and to not slack off, what he usually did. The young men observed the woman carefully, at a safe distance of 10 meters. They stood behind one of the many trees the Montreal administration had kindly planted along the sidewalks. Suddenly, the woman got up, and joined in a conversation with another man, who seemed like he came out right out of a Bob Marley cartoon, with his dreadlocks going down to his shoulders, his German T-Shirt and his pants of flashing colors. Isn't he cold? But more importantly, what is his business with that woman? The weird man and the "Mouse Woman" talked for a little time, the woman pointing the sheet of paper from time to time. Finally, they went on the move.
The young lads followed the pair as they entered the parc, a vast snow land with the "Biospère de Montréal", a large sphere that was the former pavilion of United States' for the 1967 World Fair, also known as "The Expo 67". The weird duo continued to walk, as they went towards an intimate group of trees. Sven was more and more puzzled. He didn't know what to do.
Lukas, if there is something that you can do to solve this, I'm all ears, because I do not know what they are talking about, or what they are doing.
OOC: The parc is called "Le parc Jean-Drapeau" (parc Jean-Drapeau). The picture shows it during the summer, so there is no snow, but obviously we are in the winter time in this mission, so I just wanted to clarify :)
Lukas and Sven had finished eating their delicious Haitian food. Lukas was very content of the meal, and he had brought his own chocolate milk. He dranked, and he felt completely ready to take on this mission. Sven came up with a small, simple plan: they would stealthly follow the "Mouse Woman" to see if she was a kishin egg or just a normal woman. Not that this plan is not good, but wouldn't she take precautions for these type of situations? She is a kishin egg, and she know that sooner or later, DWMA students will come to hunt her and her companions... I'll still follow Sven's plan to see how this unfolds. Lukas looked around; maybe there was another person that would look suspicious, emanating some kind of "evil" aura like the woman. He couldn't see anyone that could poke his curiosity like the "Mouse Woman", but a very weird man appeared. This man had dreadlocks, a very hippie-like shirt and topped it off with pants that were an explosion of rainbow colors. The woman seemed to know him, as they seemed to be arranging a date of some sort. However, Sven wasn't deceived, and said that they might be planning something else. Lukas agreed, and theboth continued following the woman.
Following the weird pair, the lads, still doing this as quietly and unseen as possible, continued their spying. The woman and the hippie man went inside of the small group of frozen trees. It could potentially serve as a good hiding place, seeing as the trees are very numerous and close to each other. The snow helps too. Lukas was going to continue, when he saw that Sven stopped and was looking on with a very thoughtful face.
What is it? You thought of something?
Lukas, if there is something that you can do to solve this, I'm all ears, because I do not know what they are talking about, or what they are doing.
Lukas thought for a second, and realized that they have been wasting their time. He could use Soul Perception! However, he thought about again, and he knew that he wasn't very good at it, so maybe it would just give out how big both their souls are, and not the type. Lukas still decided to give it try. He advanced cautiously, concentrating his vision towards the woman and the hippie, and then he saw it. The soul of the woman was red: she was a Kishin's Egg. The man, however, was just an innocent man. Seems like she's going to have her next meal! We have to stop her. But still... I thought that she ate their souls in public, so why is she taking him deep in the parc?
Sven, we were right about following her. She's a Kishin's Egg, and she's going to feed on her. Transform!
Sven's body glowed a faint blue light, and his body shrinked a bit, became very slim, and as the light went out, a black katana was revealed. Lukas took Sven in his right hand, and charged stealthly, intending to finish the woman before any calamities would happen.
Just so you guys know, you are more than welcome in practical half of the MEGA-test ^_^ You can RP in more than 1 place at a time.
The business woman and her meal walked together through the ankle-deep snow. Together they passed a stately orange-tinted building, from which dark and dead windows stared out into the bustling city. The man appeared suddenly drunk, and was leaning heavily on the kishin egg’s delicate shoulders. His gait was unsteady, and his knees would buckle unexpectedly under him. While the tail-end of his pants were wet with the snow slush, the business woman seemed as dry, and warm, as ever. Her prim, summer-style high heels casually strolled through the snow, and never once seemed to quite touch the dirt, snow or any passing detritus. Together they walked off the hidden concrete path, passing to the side of the large building. They were making a bee-line for the gaunt row of trees, who bare of their foliage, looked dead and depressing. There were a few evergreens within sight deeper into the forest, their luscious green leaves shining like a beacon in a monochrome world of snow and bark.
With crunching footfalls the kishin egg was just about to enter the forest when she paused, and looked left, and then right. Finally, with a suspicious glance over her shoulder the woman spied a teenager rushing towards her. His mane-like hair streamed behind him in large clumps, and sharp blue eyes stared with a murderous intent towards her. His black wardrobe stood out starkly against the white of the snow, as did the obsidian sword comfortably held in one hand. Without so much as a thought the kishin egg dropped the limpid male from her arms, and after making a magic gesture with one hand, flung a sheet of paper from the bundle under one arm. It exploded forwards as if shot from a pistol, turning end-over-end as if made from steel. While it was still in flight the paper folded in upon it self, forming the rough shape of a ninja-star in a fraction of a second.
The kishin egg did not see whether or not her attack succeeded. The moment the page had left her hand she threw the remaining bundle of papers up into the air, which orbited around her. Without so much as a glance towards the discarded meal, the woman dashed into the forest, confident the sword-wielding boy would be quick to follow. The pages, which had folded themselves into the shape of paper aeroplanes, followed close behind her like a swarm of bees.
