This mission, I think it’ll get your mind off things.

Pen hadn’t a clue how true Lady was when she said that to her, one day prior to where she was currently. But yes this mission had her mind completely somewhere else. With a gulp she tip toed along the path before bending down to her knees, making sure the close was clear.

“Punsworth, this must be a joke.” She declared boldly to her companion. Who she hadn’t much talked to on their way to said village. As the two strolled to the outskirts of the small town, Pen had with her a backpack that had some spare supplies such as spare clothes. One shouldn’t be without a spare change of clothes! Lady had told her prior to her packing. And some essentials like her toothbrush and a book. Lady told her she might get bored and whole heartedly Pen packed a book, one she smuggled from her sister. It was a Harlequin romance that had written on the back cover “Murder and treachery afoot! Can our brave heroine beat the odds!” Pen liked mysteries and brave heroes as main characters, it was a plus if it was a girl too. And since Mary had loads of them, Pen became curious. Yeah, really curious.

“Any who the village should be right over this bend.” As they trudged up the hill Pen was sorta lost in her own thoughts, heads up in the clouds really. You better not say that aloud. Pen paused mulling over Lady’s warning before remembering that using play on words really got you quite in a pickle—STOP. Lady thundered and Pen rolled her eyes, albeit weakly.

“Jeez don’t get your knickers in a...” Lady took over one of her legs and made her go tripping over her own two feet. Thus making her jerk forwards and Pen went tumbling. Reaching out for the boy, whose name she hadn’t asked. She gave a sharp cry before pulling him down just as something went whizzing up and over past their heads. Whatever it was, it very well would have gone right through them! Pen’s mouth worked into circles.

Did you pull me down on purpose?

Of course. Pen frowned not believing Lady one bit.

“Uh huh.” Getting back up she offered her hand to the boy, not knowing if he had fallen or not because her eyes were set on what laid before her eyes. Pen mentally winced and hoped she could keep her mouth shut for the remainder of this mission. She silently mused that maybe bringing the books were pretty pointless. “Well isn’t this going to be fun?” She murmured to herself mostly, slightly astonished by the sight of the village.

Springing forth from the small tumbles of hills below were signing that came from grinning flowers, bees buzzed about them and appeared to be harvesting honey while they themselves sang along to this unknown tune. Further along was the village itself and Pen could hear distant cries and screams before she noticed a giant wave that lapped about one side of the town while the other seemed to be bursting with fireworks.

“Off we go.” She bounded for the village, minding not to go anywhere near the singing bees and flowers.

OoOoO

“THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING!” Someone screamed while running past Penelope. Penelope meanwhile quirked an eyebrow to see if the sky was really falling only to have to dodge out of the way while a piece of sky fell where she was standing moments before. Looking around she took the boy by the wrist and pulled him into an alley, it was good enough cover for now.

“Well isn’t this all strange?” She mused to him quietly looking out into the street to still see pieces of the sky falling. Oddly though it remained blue above and it was only chaos here inside the town. It was cut off up to a point so… “Maybe we should find who runs this place?” She offered nodding while her eyes trailed to the other side of the alley where it looked like the sky wasn’t falling. “Come on.” Getting back up, she ventured out into the street before hearing a scream. Her eyes scanned about to see a woman clutching onto a child who looked like she was trying to float away.

The girl wasn’t fighting and if anything she had this dazed look to her eyes.

“Help! My daughter has her head in the clouds!” The woman shrieked, tears running down her face as she struggled to keep her and her daughter on the ground. Pen grimaced.

“I think we should help them out first!” She hollered as she sprinted toward the two.

Nick got up early that morning, following his daily morning routine as he would any other day; shower, brush teeth, get dressed, etc.. But he stopped just before he put his shirt on. It seemed his mind finally got to working at that minute as he suddenly changed to a different attire from his usual. A black jacket with fluff on it's collar, a red long-sleeved shirt under it, with gray pants and black shoes, and putting on the white gloves after it.

A mission. My first in a while.

Was the thought that triggered this change. Looking in the mirror, he agreed with himself over this new set. A little difference from his routine. And a little mission to match it. The Weapon practically broke out through the front door, eager to begin his new objective. Life, what a bore. He needed excitement, risk, something to work out with. Now he had his excuse to get out and do something. To do exactly what he'd been waiting on but waiting too long had built up his boredom, now he was venting it all out. Mentally preparing himself in his own way. Can't be late. Not even by a second. Before he knew it, he was somewhere else, walking with a girl he didn't even know in the slightest beyond the fact that they'd both taken this assignment. On their way to a place with a very strange name.

“Punsworth, this must be a joke.” Damn, frickin', right. Thought Nick as he angrily trudged along with her. His unusual silence had been enough of a hint that he wasn't exactly enjoying this little "trip", though it did keep Nicholie from introducing himself and pulling something he might consider funny on her. For once, he actually couldn't give a damn either. The trip was boring, the walk was annoying, and suddenly all he felt like doing was cutting something. Overall he considered this moment not even worth his reaction. Not worth a word or a laugh. He just really wanted to get to this ridiculously named town/village/dump, and clear out whatever problems they were having so he could get back and order a better mission. Preferably one that didn't include so much walking before you actually get to the mission site.

Before long the road reached a turn and the girl spoke again. “Any who the village should be right over this bend.” And if it isn't I'm cutting my head off He sarcastically thought. As he stepped forward a weight suddenly pulled him downward into a face plant on the ground. The Weapon picked himself back up to his feet and glared at the girl. "Just what the hell was that about?"

Yet the matter was quickly forgotten it seemed. Nick also caught the sight of the village. Punsworth was just ahead, and the only thing that stood between the two Weapons and the town was a bunch of singing flowers and bees?! "And people say Death City is a weird place to live." He grumbled under his breath. Unlike the girl, who looked like she was keeping her distance from these strange things on her way to the town, Nick trounced through them occasionally stepping on one of the creepy singers and weird flying insects by accident (or was it on purpose?).

“THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING!”

As if things aren't crazy enough. What the hell is going on now? Nick, who had walked ahead of Penelope, looked back to see a kid running hysterically past the girl screaming something so cliche`. He groaned at this ridiculous happening, although normally he would take a moment to pull something funny his mood just didn't permit it. "This ain't Chicken Little! Come up with something funnier next time, wi-" He was cut off by something very very strange hitting the ground where the other Weapon had stood not two seconds ago. Nick had little to no time to remark on this as his companion jerked him by the wrist into a nearby alley.

“Well isn’t this all strange? Maybe we should find who runs this place?”

Nick, in the haste to get there, was sitting on the ground readjusting his hair over his right eye while hoping Penelope hadn't noticed the abnormal color of it. After covering it again and closing his right eye, Nick stood back up and edged at the entrance of the alley. He also noticed there was no "falling" on the other side of the street, but he didn't exactly understand it. Why was the sky "falling" on this side but not on that end? “Come on.” The other Weapon said before she dashed out ahead of him. Just as Nicholie was about to make a run too, the scream halted him in his tracks. The source came from a poor woman trying to keep her daughter from flying up.

Somehow, I don't think this place has anything funny about it. He thought as he also made his way to the girl and mother, seeing as how the daughter was just beginning to lift a bit off the ground. Nick grabbed her by the shoulders and pulled the floating female back to the ground. Though still she seemed about ready to fly off again. "Just what the hell is this?" Grumbled Nick.

I suggest you tie down the two females to a post and be on your way. Pen scoffed aloud while she held on to the other side of the woman, her companion keeping them steady. As she stared into the eyes of the terrified mother she looked into the child’s and noticed that a weird glow appeared on the outer rim of her pupil. It was a pink color and every passing moment she stayed rooted to the ground it would grow in diameter, sooner or later Pen figured it would cover her whole eye. Putting this thought from mind she turned back to the terrified mother.

“Don’t worry ma’am were here to help you! Me and Mister hair in his eyes behind you there!” Pen tried her hand at grinning to complacent the woman but this only made her look even more terrified. Stop grinning, you look like a loon. Lady muttered before her appearance fluttered away, leaving Penelope perplexed. “Um, we’re from Shibusen if that’s any consolation.” At this the woman’s eyes flared and she gave a shriek.

“Get away from me!” She hollered so loudly that Pen had to reel back. But she noticed that by letting go it allowed for the woman herself to start floating up a bit. Her eyes turned to the boy, flashing him a look that would have said ‘do you know what’s going on here?’ She reached forward again and held firmly on to her arm.

“Hey, calm down we aren’t here to hurt you.” She tried calmly but still the woman tried jerking away, actually she jerked her head back so fast that she was in danger of hitting her male companion right in the face. Pen was unsure whether or not the hit landed for she was preoccupied by thinking of a plan. As the woman got even more frazzled Pen sighed hopelessly before glancing over to the guy.

“Uh, cover your ears, I got this.” Not really checking to see if he covered his ears, she took a breath. “Some people say my puns are sleep-inducing, but I keep laudanum anyways.” Next thing she knew the woman dropped like a fly, so did her daughter. Smirking she glanced over to the kid to see that he did heed her words what with his hands wrapped about his ears. “It’s all good now!” She called while waving her hand about his face. Only then noticing a bottle within her fingers, she’d glanced at it to read that it read Opium Tincture upon it. Reading it over she figured this might come in handy later and proceeded to stick it into her back pack.

“Well that was, I dunno interesting? Yeah, anyways we should place these two somewhere safe…” Trailing off she looked about to see a house with its door wide open. She indicated where they should go with a tilt of her head. Then she walked toward the child and picked her up carefully, minding her head. “Hey you got the mother right?” Not turning to see if he did she took towards the house and disappeared inside.

OoOoO

Once inside, she situated the mother and daughter in the bedroom. Making sure they looked cosy but paused while staring at the young girl’s closed eyes. Taking a glance out into the hallway she tiptoed to the girl’s side and carefully pried open her eyes, seeing that the pink had now covered half of the girl’s pupil. Taking a step back she rubbed the base of her neck before checking her mother’s eyes as well, noting that the pink was now just starting in her. After her observations she gently poked at Lady. Only to get no answer from her. Sighing now she walked back towards the living room where she last left the guy.

“Well they’ll be alright, I think. I mean after we find out what’s happening.” At this moment she fell back against the couch and glanced over to the still standing male. “I don’t think we’ve properly introduced ourselves. The name is Penelope Heartindales, at your service.” She gave a wave of her hand before appraising the male; off handily she was honestly giving him the Eiffel tower look. He looked like he was gearing for winter, what with the gloves and yet again he had his hair placed in a distracted manner over his right eye.

Pen herself was wearing a grey and white tank having attached to it a hood with some really baggy black sweats that needed to be held up with a jumper she had manufactured her very self, their color a lighter tint then her hair. Meanwhile her hair was currently being held back away from her eyes with a head band, one that oddly resembled the hilt of her weapon form, what with the swirl.

“You need a head band or something? I know how distracting it is to have hair in your eyes.” She smiled.

“Don’t worry ma’am were here to help you! Me and Mister hair in his eyes behind you there!”

Nicholie stopped struggling to hold the girl down only long enough to look at his companion and mutter something under his breath before pulling her back down from her attempt to float back up. "Ass." Luckily enough the other Weapon hadn't heard him, but her sudden grimace-looking smile made Nick bust out in racious laughter. He reeled his arms back to clutch at his stomach, which felt a bit painful from the sudden lurch. "Honestly, you look like some sorta loon!" The boy said as he wiped a tear from his eye.

He nearly forgot to be the floating girl's weight. By the time he reached out and dragged her back down her feet were just above his head. "I gotta say! I never enjoyed flying, myself. Always enjoyed shooting other things in the air. What goes up, must come down, right?" However, the coming down part was more difficult to do than it was to say. It didn't help that the mother was scared out of her wits by the pink-haired girl's declaring their coming from Shibusen. "Oh cut us some slack lady we're here to help you Punny-people!" Nick yelled angrily at old lady. The other earthbound student shared his displeasure of the howling female. Though it did nothing for Nick's building frustration. How the flippin' hell do we keep these two down?! He wondered.

“Uh, cover your ears, I got this. some people say my puns are sleep-inducing, but I keep laudanum anyways.”

If I had to be honest at this point, I'd straight up say that I hate puns. Still, he didn't feel like holding on to this airhead much longer. Nicholie withdrew his hands and covered his ears while she began to float up again. He could care less, or rather he couldn't care less. If only she stopped trying to get airborne along with her mother, then things would be a heck of a lot easier in his opinion. Nick looked up as if looking for the flying females, but they weren't there. They were back on the ground! Nick was confused for a moment, but his hands were still clamped over his ears as the pink-haired companion told him it was okay to listen up again. Guess I...missed that one. He thought awkwardly. The Weapon shrugged it off, though.

“Well that was, I dunno interesting? Yeah, anyways we should place these two somewhere safe…” Nick couldn't agree more, if he wasn't already a bit ticked at the previously groundless women for trying to go up, and the fact that a random piece of "sky" suddenly dropped on his head. Rubbing at his ailed noggin, the boy pocketed the sky piece, pulled the mother to her feet by his shoulders and managed to guide her into the house after her daughter and his companion.

Both the mother and daughter were put into one of the bedrooms, Nick didn't care much as the other Weapon stayed behind with them for a moment. He retired himself into a very comfortable recliner in the living room and kicked back. For a few moments he was actually glad for the softness of the chair, but a bit bitter at the silence. He growled under his breath before the Weapon joined him in the living room, she took a place on the couch.

“Well they’ll be alright, I think. I mean after we find out what’s happening.” "Let's make it soon then. I don't feel like being deadweight for another girl." Another moment of quiet uncomfortability passed between the two of them. Until she mentioned her name. “I don’t think we’ve properly introduced ourselves. The name is Penelope Heartindales, at your service.” Nick gave her a quick glance. She was right, neither had given the other their name. The boy sat back up and looked at her. "I'm Nicholie Mori, but I prefer Nick." And he was just about to lay back down when Penelope asked him something else. “You need a head band or something? I know how distracting it is to have hair in your eyes.” She even said it with a smile. strangely, this smile was a bit different than the one she'd done before. It could actually be considered sweet in comparison to the previous grimace-looking expression.

Nick returned with a half-smile of his own. "Sorry. To be honest I kinda prefer it this way. My right eye, I want to hide it. So I'm afraid I'll decline the offer." He raised his hand over his right eye in a way that signified it. He was never quite comfortable revealing the purple colored pupil. It wasn't because he was a heterochromic, well partly it was perhaps. However, Nick tried to change the subject, he withdrew the piece of "sky" from his pocket and held it up in a way that implied he wanted her to look at it. "Whaddaya make of this, Penelope? It's definitely not what that person called sky, and it doesn't appear to be like glass or regular stone."

Nicholie Mori. She mused, tumbling around the word in her mouth before nodding her head. “Nick it is then.” She stated offhandedly whilst he declined her offer for some form of a head band for his hair. Preferring it would seem to have it the same way as before. Penelope simply shrugged figuring it’s the cool thing these days for kids. Of course she was probably the same age of this kid but lately Lady’s influence on her made her feel old, she hadn’t the slightest idea on why though.

“Whaddaya make of this, Penelope? It’s definitely not what that person called sky, and it doesn’t appear to be like glass or regular stone.” Penelope quirked an eyebrow, then got to her feet and bundled over towards Nick. Seeing the sky in his hands, she simply swiped it up into hers and stared at it for a few seconds, running her fingers over the smooth surface and then over the cracks jagging down its sides. No, it did not look like the sky in the least when up close. Though it did have some similarities, like the color and some fragments of what looked like drawn on clouds but nothing else.

If anything Pen thought the sky would have been, you know, fluffy? That’s clouds moron. Pen made a face but tried to hide it away with the piece of the sky.

“It looks like someone made this.” She offered before peering down at him, sliding it back into his gloved hands. “Maybe this is all some big joke…well no I highly doubt that.” Her mind back tracked to the two females currently sleeping in the room down the hall from them. “Wait, this is probably some witches doing.” She stated with a resolute frown. “If anything the town is surely being affected by magic, I mean what else could it be? A warlock?” She shrugged at this before pulling away from the proximity of Nick.

With her back turned to them she idly wondered about the state of the woman and child’s eyes; if she looked at her own would she see the beginning of something there? She rolled her shoulders about then with a sideways glance studied Nick with his half smile.

“Yo, mind taking a look at my eyes? Tell me if there’s something that shouldn’t be there?” She tilted her head at him before wandering back over to his side. She bent down to her knees so she was at eye level with him and rose up her too large for her face, glasses. “My eyes are just a lavender color.” She pointed out and when Lady heard that she snorted. Pen held back the reaction to the noise by tightening her smile. Peering back at Nick while waiting for him to look she paused a bit for his answer. Probably guessing there was something there.

One second the sky was there, the next moment Penelope had it in her hands. For a second Nick had thought it literally disappeared. He hadn't exactly seen her reach out for it. But she did what she did to examine it, Nicholie took the time to kick back and close his revealed eye while the other Weapon did her thing with it.

“It looks like someone made this.”

Were the words that stopped him from falling off the edge of consciousness into sleep. Great, just when I was about to- But she started talking again before he could even finish this thought. “Maybe this is all some big joke…well no I highly doubt that. Wait, this is probably some witches doing.” Witch, right. Cuz Witches are the most evil being ever to exist and they just looove throwing crap all around for people to get hit with. Sarcastically (and somewhat angrily) thought Nicholie. “If anything the town is surely being affected by magic, I mean what else could it be? A warlock?”

That word made Nick sit up in his chair and struggle not to laugh. A male witch? Preposterous. Stupid idea. Then again...Nick himself was the product of a Witch and a Weapon. What if the Witch's offspring was male? Would he have magic? If I had magic I wouldn't even have a need for bladed limbs or to prepare pranks myself, I'd just get stuff to float into place. Or however the hell magic works.

Finally Nick managed to regain control of himself and returned to his smirking expression. He wasn't exactly expecting Penelope's next question. “Yo, mind taking a look at my eyes? Tell me if there’s something that shouldn’t be there?” "Uh, okay?" Was his slightly stunned response. “My eyes are just a lavender color.” Nick felt that pointing out something obvious wasn't really worth a comment so he shut his mouth and crouched down and leaned forward a bit to look at her eyes. He didn't really see anything out of place. Her whites were white, her pupils were lavender, and he could tell little else about them. "They look fine, Penelope. Nothing odd. Admittedly, your eyes are a nice color though." Nick gave her a short smile before drawing back into the recliner; it was hard to tell if she looked more psychotic with or without the glasses.

Penelope hauled herself to her feet, posing a finger below her chin as if mulling some things over. Then she looked down to Nick, nodded her head as if to say thanks without the means of words and went back to pondering. Pondering what, she hadn’t a clue she just wanted to busy herself. Idly she wanted to go wander back over to the couch and get all cosy and relaxed like Nick appeared to be but, no that would be lazy and they couldn’t be lazy when in such a time like this! Nope.

She quickly turned around, maybe so fast enough to make Nick jump a little, she didn’t know but she was dizzy suddenly. She didn’t wonder why.

“Up and at ‘em, mate. We can’t be lazing about, time’s a wasting.” She reached for his arm and pulled him upwards, her strength slightly surprising her. She then patted him quite harshly on the shoulder before making her way to the door. She’d hollered over her shoulder one last thing before she was out the front. “Let’s go to the middle of the town, maybe we can talk to the people in charge.” The last thing he would have saw was her hand as she bounced enthused down the house’s door steps.

--------
“Shibusen kidlet’s are here.”

“I’ve noticed.”

“Hey, HEY, you told me to come down here and tell you when they’ve showed up. So don’t get all SNARKY with me.”

“I just said,” The balding man decided to sigh, “Never mind, where are they now?”

“I dunno.”

“Allen.”

“Yes?” Allen piped up.

“You’re an ass.”

-------
So as both Penelope and hopefully Nick wandered down the path that Pen supposed lead to the middle of town. It would seem the chaos of this place had died down, well at the very least the noise did. You couldn’t hear screaming or shit blowing up or anything, just bleak, deafening silence. It was enough to get on Penelope’s nerves. So when this happened, she made at small talk.

“Heh, suppose that if we understood the puns more we could’ve made up one where a motorcycle would come flying outta the sky. So we didn’t have to walk.” She smiled at the idea while Lady rolled her eyes. “Oh, not that I’m saying I’m lazy or anything.” She rolled her shoulders, glancing at the sparse little shops and buildings just up a head of them. They currently were on a trail, to the left of them was a small ravine and the right were some houses. The doors closed, the window’s covered. Penelope wondered if people were hiding inside.

Makes you wonder if people are hiding from something. Lady murmured and Penelope gave a mental shrug. What’s to hide from?

Oh how bout, one another? Penelope decided to mull over that later, she was curious for Nick’s retort.

"Yeah, yeah." Muttered the dozing Nicholie as Penelope just said they shouldn't be lazing around. He obviously wasn't given a choice in the matter as she grabbed him by the arm and tugged him up and out. "What the hell is it with you and this dragging-me-around thing you've got?" He nearly yelled, but held the words just under his tongue figuring that she'd probably smack him for it. However it seemed as if it wasn't needed in the first place as she let go and ran out the door, exclaiming her idea to go to the center of town. Guess it would be a start. Thought the exasperated Nick. He then followed the female Weapon out the door, wishing that things would be easier than they appeared.

Nicholie grumbled his disdain. "Hate it when things are just too damn quiet. It makes me edgy as hell." The male Weapon felt as if transforming his arm and cutting down every building around. Unfortunately, it wasn't part of the mission. His partner seemed to have a bit of nervousness about her, considering she mentioned making a bike from a pun (Nick actually like this idea), before turning around and saying she wasn't lazy. "I didn't think you were, personally I think a motorcycle would come in handy at this point." He held back any growls from his quietness-irritation and managed a slight smug smirk. It was just these quiet buildings, empty sidewalks, this standing still that was bothering him so much. "With all the people gone, you'd think the Kishin Egg was around every corner you turn. It's so irritating that everything is gone. Like a frozen feeling." Nick shivered a bit as if to prove his point.

Frozen feeling. Pen nodded at that since she agreed. Maybe a pun had made the town frozen? So if that did happen how would that pun go? Pen mentally started to list off puns that “involved” ice and cold. Lady meanwhile mentioned that later on those could come in handy.

I think everyone is hiding inside, from something.” She paused before looking back at Nick and giving him a wide eyed stare. Her face blank before she continued. “Like, monsters that’ll rip your guts out.” Quiet for a moment she rolled her shoulders upwards and brought up her palms. “Just kidding ‘round.” After that random little bout of insanity, she strived directly past the last house and into the beginning of the town.

Like she mentioned before the town was small and thus the buildings weren’t even two stories. She came to a direct stop when she saw a lone tumble weed cross her path, now looking at it she had to surmise that this place was a ghost town.

“Hey Nick, know any puns about Ghosts?”

That’s brilliant Pen, why don’t you have him say it aloud if he does.

“If you got paper it’d be best to pull it out, you know to write on,” she gave a pause mulling over what she said. “Well I mean if you know any.” Giving a shaky laugh she started walking forward, unaware of the pair of eyes staring at her from the alleyway just ahead of her. As she walked passed it a pair of limbs shot out and grabbed onto her immediately. Pen did a shriek before completely spazzing out because she had gone and gotten herself paranoid. The pair of arms pulled quickly backwards and Pen had to look downwards to see who they belonged to.

What she saw was a little girl with matted red hair and tears streaming down her face like a river. “Oi, Nick, come look at this.” She waved backwards, ushering him to come over. Meanwhile she paid more attention to the girl who looked caught between wanting to run away or to do something else. Pen wasn’t sure. Giving a whistle she bent down to one knee and reached out for her. “Hey, it’s alright. What’s wrong?”

“Please follow me.” She said quickly before latching out to grip her arm. Pen tensed and was pulled into the alley.

“Wait, my friend.” At that moment she heard the shrieking of pigs. Pen pulled away to see where it had come from before letting her eyes travel upwards. Just in time to see a group of flying pigs.

Huh.

Well it would make sense if they were hiding from something. At least then it wouldn't be so weird to be quiet, and I could stop feeling so edgy. Damn this notion! I feel like slicing up half the damn town! Nick shivered a bit as he thought this, he hated silence. He always needed something going on, couldn't stand just sitting still and listening to nothing. It was the most irritating thing to him.

“Hey Nick, know any puns about Ghosts?”

Penelope broke through his thoughts, making him aware of everything around him again. "Huh? O-oh, yeah. I know a few but none are very funny. Sorry Penelope." He uttered, only half thinking, half listening to her. She asked for paper, he managed to find a scrap in his pants. He didn't really care what it was but he couldn't find any writing utensil to write down the puns he knew. Better if I didn't know them anyway, every pun would get twisted up like crazy around here. He anxiously thought. Imagine if I could just pun-in a song from no where, or even a stampede of animals, just to get away from this annoying silence.

Once more the female Weapon cut into his thoughts. Nicholie turned his gaze to her, and then upon the crying girl. He made his way to them and knelt down in front of the girl. Pen was trying to comfort her, right before she got pulled into the alley after the girl. Growling under his breath, Nick leaped forward at the girl, a growing suspicion in his mind. While his partner was focused on the flying pigs, the boy raised the young girls chin and looked at her eyes. "Hey Penelope. Earlier when you asked me to look at your eyes, what is it that you wanted me to check for? This girl, she might have it." Strangely, what he saw in the girls eyes, right before she closed them to let more welling tears flow, a strange pink color was thinly around her pupils. Not like the girl that was floating up, but possibly the beginning stages of something similar, Nick had no clue about it though. He only had a guess at what Penelope had wanted him to check for back at the house considering she never told him.
