Will wandered around the house. He had been travelling to the kitchen, when suddenly he noticed there was nothing to step over, nothing waiting to trip someone up, no shoes, clothes, tins, or books, and he wasn't sneezing as his feet dislodged veritable clouds of dust from the carpet. He had wondered if someone had cleaned the hallway or the whole house. On further inspection the kitchen surfaces were squeaky clean, and nothing crunched underfoot. The dishes were done, and that was what clinched it for Will. Whatever had done those dishes had to be a supernatural force, because as far as he knew students would never have done such a thing. He hurried back to his room and turned on his computer. It had finally arrived, a day or two ago. He had spent a fair amount of time acustomising himself to the technology, and despite a few glitches it was working pretty well. His immediate studies took longer than expected, and by the time he finished, it was already sunset. Will could tell because at sunset the sunlight leaked through his window and warmed his back when he was sitting at the desk. Will walked back out to the kitchen and hunted around for a few pieces of fruit, some biscuits and a savoury bun he happened to find. The fruit was his, but the bun sure as hell wasn't. Will couldn't care less though. He knew the biscuits belonged to Roo, who wasn't too fussed, as long as Will kept him some frozen grapes. It was a good deal. Walking back to his room with the food, Will cleared his throat and said loudly, "My goodness, this house is so clean! It is so wonderful that someone has cleaned the house, and so thoroughly too! If only I could thank that person, they have done such a great job." Will stopped, trying not to overdo it. He shuffled into his room, planning to leave the food out as an offering that night to the house brownie. |

Outside the door of the share house, a red headed, rather androgenous, and very scruffy weapon was dithering bit. She was pretty sure that Will lived here, the house was enroute from Shibusen to her flat and they'd walked (read: staggered) back together after the test. The reason that she was dithering was that she'd been passing by when she remembered that she was meeting up with Rosario tomorrow, and, despite her and Will agreeing that their arrangment during the exam had only been temporary, she still felt like she was being a bit of a traitor. She wasn't sure whether or not the blind weapon qualified as a friend, mainly because she wasn't sure what the definition of a friend was, she'd definitly hadn't had one before, well one that didn't have four legs and a waggy tail anyway, and while she'd never really been bothered by this it would be quite nice to change things in that department. The problem was, she didn't know how things would work now that she had a meister, for all she knew their possible-friendship was as temporary as their partnership. Which was why she was loitering outside his house, wondering whether or not she should have a chat for the sake of clarifying things. After a moment, she sighed. "I might as well get it over with." Knocking on the door, it was opened a moment later by a teenager that Deira didn't recognize. "Yeah, what is it?" Hoping that she hadn't got the wrong house, the weapon smiled in what she hoped was a friendly manner. "Hi. Is Will in?" "Yeah." The boy ducked back into the house and yelled. "Hey Will, you've got a visitor." |

His duty done, Ruben doffed his mining helm, and with a tea mug as oversized as his gloves, jogged up the stairs and back into the share house. He had failed to notice the new-found cleanliness, and still subconsciously walked lightly and tried not to notice when someone other than floor was squashed beneath his feet. Wandering idly back into the kitchen, a quick scouting revealed his biscuit tin near empty. A horrified silence descended, My biscuits... ... Without biscuits to chew on and tea to sip, Ruben couldn't hope to catch up in the studies he was required to do now he was a meister. Further exploration of the kitchen revealed some crisps, fruit, salami, cheese and frozen grapes. Grapes! With eyes a'shining in glee, Roo grabbed up a bowl and eagerly poured some of the delicacies into it, before bouncing back into his room, bowl in one glove and tea mug in the other. It was going to be a good day. |

Will had just finished placing the food in a bowl and under his bed, ready to take out when everyone else was asleep, when he felt Deira's soul at the front door of the share house. Hesitatingly Will wandered into the hall. He and Deira hadn't really spoken since the prac test, which hadn't struck Will as abnormal; they'd both been busy, everyone had. It was nice to know Deira was interested in talking to him. 'I assume Deira still wants us to be friends, otherwise she wouldn't care enough to visit... I wonder if she wants to talk about being partners? It'd certainly be nice to have a partner again...' "Hey Will, you've got a visitor." "Ok, thanks Ruben!" Will walked down to the door, passing Ruben on his way back from gathering grapes in the kitchen. He knew the house so well now that he hardly ever had to use his cane-arm, especially now that the floors were so clean. Will approached the door, "Hey Deira!" he smiled, "good to talk to you again, do you want to come in? I'm sure Ruben would have offered this courtesy to you if he'd remembered but he can be a little absent minded about pleasantries." |

The billhook shrugged. "I didn't notice, and anyway I'm not much better myself." Looking around the room, she noticed that it was a hell of a lot tidier then she'd expect of a house full of students. She lived on her own and her flat was a fine example of not-exactly-organized chaos, she would've thought that somewhere with multiple students would be a hundred times worse. "It's pretty tidy around here. Did you get the elves in or something?" she joked. |

"shhh!" hissed Will quickly, making motions for Deira to be quiet. "Not elves," he said loudly, apparently to no-one in particular, "We are just lucky that some thoughtful soul is tidying the house and making our lives much better.... for us." Will moved in close to Deira, not wanting to freak her out, but enjoying the clean house too much to jeopardise the relationship of the house with the Brownie. "We have a brownie living around here, who keeps everything nice and tidy... It only moved in recently, so I looked up brownies, and we have to be really thankful and curteous otherwise it'll go away, or worse, it'll turn into a boggart and play nasty pranks on us..." Will knew what he was saying sounded stupid, and so attempted to change the topic. "How about we go up to my room? By the way, did you come over for any reason in particular? Perhaps just to enjoy some of the house's frozen grapes?" Will started walking in the direction of the kitchen. |

"Eh? Frozen grapes? Why would you want to freeze grapes? And what's this about a brownie?" Deira didn't exactly believe in brownies and what not but she didn't not believe in them either. After all, when you spent a fair bit of your time as a billhook you couldn't help but be open minded when it came to all things weird. Besides, she couldn't talk, she'd once spent three hours going around with her fingers crossed because she'd seen a magpie. "Er, no, I'm fine thanks." Stepping closer to Will, she dropped her voice down to a whisper. "Regarding the you-know-what, you should really put some milk out. The fairy stories I got read when I was little were very clear about that. There's also whiskey, but I think that that was just the one book." "Stop faffing around Deira, you might as well get this over with."

"hmmm Milk..." Will turned thoughtful wondering if he should leave out a bowl, a mug, a glass, or perhaps just an entire bottle of milk. The reached the kitchen which was equipped with a small table, around which several chairs were situated. each chair was different to its fellows. Some were blue, some brown, they were wooden, plastic, old, new, fixed, broken, high chairs, low chairs, stools, and in one case an adjustable wheeled chair for sitting at desks. The table itself was round, and half blue half natural, like someone had begun stripping the paint away but had never bothered to finish the job. Wisp gestured casually in the direction of the table, grabbed a bowl and walked to the freezer to get some frozen grapes, still thinking about milk. He sat down in a sturdy brown wooden chair, with a high back, and popped a grape in his mouth. "So, what have you been up to?" Edited by Imp of Chaos, May 5 2009, 12:03 AM.

Looking over the assorted chairs, Deira's spotted the wheelie chair and snickered quietly to herself. "Hmm, should I... Nope, despite the demands of the rule of funny, this is not the time for send-ups of insane-o teachers. Although it does look like fun, well until the inevitable falling over anyway." Turning away from the wheelie chair and the comedic potential thereof, she flopped down in a molded plastic chair with metal legs and watched Will get something out of the freezer, which turned out to be the frozen grapes that he'd mentioned (Deira still didn't have a clue what the point of freezing them was), before sitting down more or less opposite her. The white haired weapon popped a grape into his mouth before speaking. "So, what have you been up to? "Okay, crunch time." "Not much really. Mostly if I'm not in class I'm in my flat. Thankfully my leg seems to have forgiven me for what I put it through in the test, which is a relief." "Stop stalling." Taking a deep breath, she got all her words mentally lined up and started talking. "Um, I went for a walk the other day and ended up at the park. Not a major event in itself but I ran into a girl while I was there and she turned out to be a meister, only she hasn't been able to get a partner for four years, although I kinda suspect that she wasn't actually trying all that hard to find on. But anyway we got talking and one thing led to another and we decided to see if we were compatible. The coincidence gods must have a strange sense of humour since as it turned out we are. So, long story short I seem to have acquired a meister. I know that we worked together well during the test but we did agree that it was temporary, plus we’re both weapons and that’s not really how it’s meant to work, although I’m not entirely sure why.” She frowned slightly and shook her head. “If one of us was a meister it would be a different matter of course, but unfortunately that’s not the case. However, as well as being my temporary partner you’re also the first person outside my family who I’ve got on well with. I don’t really know what it’s like to have a friend, well one that doesn’t have four legs and a cold nose anyway, but I wouldn’t mind finding out, so while I’ll understand if you think I’m a fickle waste of space and want to see the back of me, metaphorically speaking of course, I’d really be glad if you didn’t.” Finally out of words, Deira stopped talking and started gnawing on her nails while waiting for Will to reply.

Will popped another grape into his mouth. It was clear Deira was worried he would be hurt by her choice to get herself a meister, and Will was so amused at the thought he was trying hard not to break out with laughing straight away. He swallowed the grape solemnly, and shook his head, a sad expression on his face, "Deira I..." He paused dramatically and gave her his biggest, most sincere, cheshire grin, "I'm glad! Come on, how long is it you haven't had a meister? This is great news, you shouldn't worry me like that, I thought you were coming to tell me you had a a deadly illness!" He shook his head again, but smiling this time, 'besides you're a good friend, and that would've made things difficult for me.' Will sighed, and offered the bowl of frozen grapes to Deira. The taste of frozen grape, extra sweet with only the mildest hint of actual grape, was leaving a pleasant after-taste in his mouth. The birds were twittering outside, and the sun was shinning. Only the slightest of cool breezes marred the perfect day, and Will was in a good mood, as he usually was. The chair he was sitting on creaked slightly as he subtly changed positions. "It was nice of you to feel concerned for me, but I had a great time during practical exam... I've had loads of meisters, and I resonate well with almost anyone. It usually leads to short partnerships while people look for other partners. I'll probably have many more meisters, so it's not one of my major concerns. I really am glad you found someone you can resonate with. It's a lovely day still, are you doing anything? Or do you fancy accompanying me to the coffee shop for a semi-lunch/dinner? We could always grab something and move on to the park" Edited by Imp of Chaos, May 7 2009, 10:50 AM.
