If the administration had listened to this guy from the get-go he would have a let less wounded soldiers to care for. I like the prominence Obama is giving this position. It shows he values the veterans and will place them front and center in his policies.

Eric K. Shinseki
Secretary of veterans affairs

Though I don't feel this in any way makes up for Clinton or the other 'change' appointments, I am all for it. This guy has *definitely* got it going on.

I look at Obamas appointments this way Yhitzak- If you are insecure in your convictions you surround yourself with people who feel the same way to reinforce them (witness Bush). If you feel confident and secure with your direction you surround yourself with people who will be quick to point out the flaws and weaknesses of your plans so you can correct those. This is what I feel Obama is doing, and that is why these centrist to right appointments aren't bumming me out.

As long as he didn't auction the position to the highest bidder...

I doubt Shinseki was the highest bidder.

Yeah, that's actually a good point. At this point, I guess, I'm still just hopeful. And being realistic, if the man chose a lot of other people instead of who he has already chosen, we could be heading in a worse direction than we already are. Hmm... maybe I'll try reading some more before responding. Gonna be one of those days...

I still think it was a smart move to put Hilary in as Sec. of State.
