George went a long way towards making our President a King. I hope Obama has the will to change this. It's a rare person who will turn away power instead of "using it for good". Power is dangerously corrupting. It's a cause for great concern. Just look at all these troops being trained for domestic activities. |

Of the 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights, about the only one that hasn't been totally eviscerated up to this point is #3 (regarding the housing of soldiers in times of peace). I get the feeling that someone somewhere is trying desperately to change that. |

Ummm- those aren't covered in the Bill of Rights TP. Here they are. You're correct, (nice copy & paste), db. I was thinking of the Constitution. I stand corrected. And unlike you, I carry a copy with me (most times) Bill of Rights and Constitution. So, Yhitzak, how did G.W. f**k-up the all rights but the 3rd? 1) Establishment Clause, Free Exercise Clause; freedom of speech, of the press, and of assembly; right to petition (NOPE!) 2) Right to keep and bear arms. (NOPE!) 3) Protection from quartering of troops. 4) Protection from unreasonable search and seizure. (You'll say so but look again, NOPE!) 5) Due process, double jeopardy, self-incrimination, eminent domain. (You'll say the slime balls in Gitmo, didn't have due process, but look again trails are happening, and guess what the folks that we want to deport, their countries don't want them back, now what, let them run free in the US? Put them in US prisons, which are where they are recruiting other slime balls.) 6) Trial by jury and rights of the accused; Confrontation Clause, speedy trial, public trial, right to counsel (See #5, I agree "speedy" is pretty general) 7) Civil trial by jury. (Military trials in process and have been) 8) Prohibition of excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishment. (NOPE! Proved by left media, O water boarding, well I have no problem there... Questioning, 2: to interrogate intensively… Torture, 1 a: anguish of body or mind : AGONY b: something that causes agony or pain2: the infliction of intense pain (as from burning, crushing, or wounding) to punish, coerce, or afford sadistic pleasure) 9) Protection of rights not specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights. (NOPE! Slime balls HAVE NO RIGHTS) 10) Tenth Amendment – Powers of states and people.(NOPE!) (O Executive Orders, been there they all do them... Wait till we see (if we're allowed) what oblama's are... And if we are talking about Club Gitmo, than These are all mute. THEY ARE NOT CITIZENS, THEY'RE SLIMEBALLS O 1 more fact the slimeballs that have been in Club Gitmo that have been released have turned up dead or recaptured fighting our heroes. For the record, I never said it was Dumbya who did *all* of the eviscerating. I said that most of the Bill of Rights with the exception of the 3rd Amendment has pretty much been eviscerated. I should have added "over the years" to that statement. But here's what I mean: Amendment 1 - This has been abridged many times over the years. There are requirements for assembling (does anyone else see permits to convene in public places as a breach of this amendment?), free speech has gone to the Supreme Court more times than I can count over the years, and if church and state were *truly* separate... I can't even finish the statement because my head gets so full to think of it. Amendment 2 - You're pretty much right about that, that it's gone pretty much untouched. 3 - Heh. 4 - Umm.... does the acronym FISA mean anything to you? 5 - Um, no. The prisoners in Gitmo (be they slimeballs by anyone's standards or not) are still prisoners of America and deserve the same rights to trial as anyone else being held in American prisons. I'm not suggesting that anyone let potential felons (to say the least) run amok, but I am suggesting that the only way to accurately deal with these people is to treat them like people. Right now, they're being treated like animals in the worst ways possible. This is a human rights issue and turning it into something else is sick. 6 - Yeah. See #5. 7 - Can't say much about that because I don't know enough at this time. 8 - Heh... yeah. Fuck you and the defense of torture techniques. Seriously. I have no qualms about telling anyone anywhere that that is a sick and indefensible position to hold. Torture is NEVER acceptable under ANY circumstances EVER. As though this amendment weren't enough, we also have the Geneva Conventions. But I suppose that's just liberal bullshit too, right? 9 - Just because you say it's so doesn't MAKE it so. 10 - Honestly, this one's open to a lot of interpretation, so I'm gonna leave it alone, too. I'm angry and going away, now. This kind of defense of torture and evil is the kind of thing that will drive me to insanity and the rest of the world to apocalypse. |
