And McCain was/is one, too.... trust me, he would have continued the same path as the present administration.

Let's keep a watchful eye on the new guy. Let's not slam him for every move - you know, the cry wolf problem, let's watch, listen and protest when necessary.

I am willing to give him, at least a chance.
I don't think so cause remember that he’s the one that “crosses the aisle”, we’ll never know will we…

No, we will never know but I know one thing.... he voted with Bush 90% of the time. He was a continuation of the same and yes, now it is a moot point because he LOST.

Yeah, I voted for Obama, you voted for Bush twice! The worst president ever in the history of the USA. So, if I were you, I would be careful with your bragging. Before you can toss around your "I told you so" to me, perhaps we should give him a chance to take office.

Obama has been left with a hell of a mess to clean up. If it is even possible to clean it, it will take a strong leader and a lot of hard work, over time.

You are assuming his appointments will not take his vision and go forward with his plans. You are assuming that government will be run as usual. Maybe you are right. Maybe you are wrong. I am betting that he will be a strong leader. Time will tell on that. I never was comfortable with my vote, as I stated before the election. But, I can tell you one thing that I know, McCain would have lead us into the end economically and on the foreign fronts. I know I didn't want that.

Although I didn't vote for Obama, when he won I secretly thought to myself that he will shake things up and it just might make a difference. I am so disappointed with all the Clinton team returning.

Gringa, you are so right - if we wanted another Clinton administration, Hillary would have received the nomination.

Hillary as Secretary of State? Are you kidding? She hasn't projected an image of tolerance thus far so I'm not so sure of that appointment.

I'm still guardedly optomistic though but time will tell.

I suspect that if Obama put a bunch of unknowns into his administration there would be enormous criticism coming from both the right and the left that his appointments lacked experience and substance, and would be eaten alive by the Washington machine.
Change or not.....any new administration has to negotiate with the congress.....with the pentagon....with existing world leaders....etc. Having people who already have that savvy is a plus to me.....the proof will be in Obama's ability to channel the abilities of those he chooses towards his goals as president.

I, for one, am willing to wait and see how his administration accomplishes what Obama sets forth as his vision for this country.

Exactly. That is what I was trying to say. He has to be a strong leader, make the appointments with the understand he requires they follow his vision. An appointment can be booted at anytime by him if they have their own agenda. It doesn't require a congressional act.

Yeah, Archer, at this point, no matter what the man does, it will be wrong to some people. I was thinking yesterday, what would happen if Obama put a bunch of unknowns in his cabinet... LOL, I can hear the jargon from the cons now.

Hilary has a lot of respect around the world. I, for one, don't like her for a lot of reasons I won't go into here.

I am not sure what her agenda is except to be President. If Obama fails in his first 4 years or 8, and she is Sec. of State this could hurt her. If he fails and she can pin all the blame on him (which she is a master at) she might be able to over come it, but it will be a hard battle. Plus it would add another 4 years onto her wait for the White House, after the next Republican win.

If he succeeds in 2 terms and the country turns around, and she is Sec of State, she would be a shoe in for the next Presidency. And it will come to her faster.

If she is asked and takes the job, it would be in her best interest, either way, to do what is asked of her. That is not to say she shouldn't fight hard with him if she feels he is wrong, but to go against his wishes and vision would kill her politically. And she sure isn't looking for that!

I agree. It does not matter what he does.. or is rumored to do. They other side will not be happy with one thing and will continue the rumor mill and bashing . It is pretty obvious by the way McCain voted with Bush on 93% of the time what he would of done in office.. it is why he was not voted in.

But that isn't the case for everyone - I, for one, really do hope that he succeeds and succeeds wildly.

I told you that I didn't like McCain either so, for me, it was neither here nor there. I will support the next president.

If McCain had been elected, it would be the same complaints but from the other side so we should all just wait to see what happens before jumping on the "I told you so" wagon.
