So, you are fine with cutting wages in the trenches and giving huge bonuses to top level executives, TPP? I have no problem cutting workers wages, in hard times, as long as top level management reduces their pay substantially - and I mean substantially. In these hard times, we are all going to need to tighten the belt. Including you, TPP. Are you ready to take a 35% pay cut to help your company? |

Can you show me where I've ever said that the CEO's need "huge" bonuses? I haven't... But let me understand, your "35%" number comes out your ass, (since there is No source) and you don't want to see the workers saddled with that, agreed... But your more than happy to have these same workers pay 35%->39% more in taxes... (no source, Bush tax cuts expire in 2010) You’re confused... I have given up a raise or 2 in order to keep the company afloat, you still don't know me don't pretend too... How ya going to "tighten your belt", Gringa? Going to pay your "workers more"? |

My belt is so tight I can hardly breath.... and yes, I gave my maid a $100 dollar a month increase 3 months ago. She is now the highest paid maid in Vallarta. Plus, she gets tips, too. Yes, 35% was out of my ass.... it was just a number to make a point, so what's your point? The working guy is suppose to pay less taxes... not more. And I didn't say anything about not getting a raise.... we are talking pay CUTS. United workers have, in fact, taken huge pay CUTS. My question is, have you or would you to keep your company afloat? My question to you about the executive abuse is because I never hear you say a word about those - all I hear is your complaints about the workers making too much and having too many bennies. |

"My belt is so tight I can hardly breath.... and yes, I gave my maid a $100 dollar a month increase 3 months ago. She is now the highest paid maid in Vallarta. Plus, she gets tips, too." Only $100 a month, why not $300 a month, $500 a month? Because it will not be worth it to pay your "maid" $500 a month more. It would cause you to go broke. You couldn't live the life style that you are a custom too. "Yes, 35% was out of my ass.... it was just a number to make a point, so what's your point?" MY point was that it doesn't matter what number you decided on we are ALL going to get a TAX increase as of 2010. "The working guy is supposed to pay less taxes... not more. And I didn't say anything about not getting a raise.... we are talking pay CUTS. United workers have, in fact, taken huge pay CUTS. My question is, have you or would you to keep your company afloat?" Agreed, the working guy/gal are supposed to pay less taxes, not more (that will happen in 2010, like it or not). But think a minute, if we put the tax burden/pay scale so mandatory high that it will cause the "rich" evil company to go broke. I don't know about you but I have NEVER gotten a job from a person/company that was poor. Have and did. "My question to you about the executive abuse is because I never hear you say a word about those - all I hear is your complaints about the workers making too much and having too many bennies." See you do not consider the CEO's and officers of the company employees, they are, the stock holders decide they're income, if they met they're expected goals, they get bonuses. I do think that the money is a bit much, that's because I don't make it, and you feel the same, that's what some want jealousy. But the question remains did these "Big Guys/Gals" deserve it; well per they're contract I guess they did... Doesn't mean I have to agree, it's just the the way it is... When I was getting a slice of the profit from my repair/manufacturing department, I saved it and at the end of the year each of my guys got an equal share, as did I, Not because I HAD to give it to them, but I realized that without them, working than I would not have gotten the profit. Both the employer & the employee understand at hiring what they are expecting from each other NO MORE NO LESS. See, we only hear about the HUGE Bonuses, we don't hear about the CEO's & others that fail, and don't meet their goals, they don't get sh*t! PS Maybe, your paying to much, than you could loosen your belt, just a thought... Edited by The Punisher, Nov 18 2008, 12:47 PM.

We probably won't get a tax increase- but we should. This ridiculous seizure of Iraq will have to be paid for as well as the bailout of megacorporations with bad business models. I personally would support an across the board tax increase in order to start paying down Bushs debt. But it won't happen. I just don't get how you cons think this is all going to get paid for. I'm left with the conclusion that you are all quite happy to dump it on your grandkids. What a bunch of selfish shits. |

I hear what you are saying, TP, but just one thought at the moment as I am kinda busy today - The executives that help turn huge profits get huge bonuses, that is in their contracts..... got it. This is not jealousy from me - what I am complaining about is the executives that are receiving huge Christmas bonuses from companies that we are bailing out. We (the tax payers) are giving guys who were responsible for their companies FAILURE bonuses..... that is what is the problem. How can you defend that? |

Gringa, I don't want to defend it, I don't agree that they should get rewards for misactions... that includes Senators, & House members... Thus I would like to see oblama DEMAND a COMPLETE investion on Fannie & Frankie, and see if barn & dodd are questioned. I think not, but you know damn well that if there was a Repub. involved at ALL he/she would be taking the fall... |
