Union workers would not scoop ice cream from the freezer. They demanded that the ice cream remain out during business hours and each container position at waist level so they didn't have to bend over into the freezer. |

Well, that was an interesting read... SSB, Did I miss something, didn't know that Army is now handing out MRI panties to the gay soldiers? Well, I guess if you’re starving... EW! I would think that they could get really messy, and gives a whole new meaning to "beans & wieners"... And per RT & yourself they also have desert? And Mexican Ice Cream is new to me, is it good, Gringa? Do they use cones, or tortillas? Flour or corn? I know that Banana Tres Leches Dessert & Tres Leches Cake with Crema de Coco can be served with Ice Cream… Wait! I found … (I stand corrected) http://www.webcrawler.com/webcrawler301/ws/results/Web/mexican+ice+cream/1/417/TopNavigation/Relevance/iq=true/zoom=off/_iceUrlFlag=7?_IceUrl=true&gclid=CPXn0Pnog5cCFRg6awodET_HXg Fried Mexican Ice CreamYield: 4 1 pt Vanilla ice cream or other flavor 1/2 c Crushed cornflakes or cookie crumbs 1 tb Ground cinnamon 2 ts Sugar 1 Egg Oil for deep frying Honey Whipped cream Scoop out 4 to 5 balls of ice cream. Return to freezer. Mix cornflakes crumbs, cinnamon and sugar. Roll frozen ice cream balls in half of crumb mixture and freeze again. Beat egg and dip coated balls in egg, then roll again in remaining crumbs. Freeze until ready to use. (For thicker coating, repeat dipping in egg and rolling in crumbs.) When ready to serve, heat oil to 350F. Place 1 frozen ice cream ball in fryer basket or on perforated spoon and lower into hot oil 1 minute. Immediately remove and place in dessert dish. Drizzle with honey and top with dollop of whipped cream. Continue to fry balls one at a time. Balls will be crunchy on outside and just beginning to melt inside. Makes 4 to 5 servings Also found... http://www.thatsmyhome.com/texmex/desserts/D_IceCream.htm Mexican Ice Cream Sundaes Recipe Serves/Makes: 6 Ingredients: 1/2 cup vegetable oil 6 flour tortillas (6-inch size) -- cut into 6 wedges each 2 tablespoons sugar 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 cup crushed cornflakes 6 large scoops vanilla ice cream chocolate syrup -- optional whipped cream 6 maraschino cherries -- with stems Directions: In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Fry tortilla wedges, a few at a time, for 1-2 minutes on each side or until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Combine the sugar and cinnamon; set aside 1 tbsp. Sprinkle both sides of tortillas with the remaining cinnamon sugar. In a shallow bowl, combine the cornflake crumbs and reserved cinnamon sugar. Roll ice cream in crumb mixture to coat. Freeze until serving. Drizzle serving plates with chocolate syrup if desired. Place tortilla wedges on each plate; top each with a scoop of ice cream. Pipe whipped cream around base and on top of ice cream. Garnish each with a cherry. SOUNDS GREAT!!!! I want to try these... Edited by The Punisher, Nov 20 2008, 07:14 AM.
