Director Roman Polanski was arrested by Swiss police as he flew in for the Zurich Film Festival and faces possible extradition to the United States for having sex in 1977 with a 13-year-old girl, authorities said Sunday. Polanski was scheduled to receive an honorary award at the festival when he was apprehended Saturday at the airport, the Swiss Justice Ministry said in a statement. It said U.S. authorities have sought the arrest of the 76-year-old director around the world since 2005. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,556141,00.html RT: I can't wait to see how the Hollyweirdos protest his arrest. Obama will probably pardon him and make him the Safe Day Care Czar. |

Another one that believes wealth=immunity. Is this the first time we've asked him to be picked up? |

Interesting that Roman Polanski was arrested the same day or day before the murderer of Sharon Tate died. Susan Atkins died yesterday. |

Polanski is one of the world's best known contemporary film directors and is widely considered as one of the greatest directors of his time. He is also known for his turbulent and controversial personal life. I never watched any of his movies. "Geimer later agreed to a second session, which took place on March 10, 1977 at the Mulholland area home of actor Jack Nicholson in Los Angeles. "We did photos with me drinking champagne," Geimer says. "Toward the end it got a little scary, and I realized he had other intentions and I knew I was not where I should be. I just didn't quite know how to get myself out of there." She recalled in a 2003 interview that she began to feel uncomfortable after he asked her to lie down on a bed, and how she attempted to resist. "I said, 'No, no. I don't want to go in there. No, I don't want to do this. No!', and then I didn't know what else to do," she stated, adding: "We were alone and I didn’t know what else would happen if I made a scene. So I was just scared, and after giving some resistance, I figured well, I guess I’ll get to come home after this". Geimer testified that Polanski gave her a combination of champagne and quaaludes, a sedative drug, and "despite her protests, he performed oral sex, intercourse and sodomy on her", each time after being told 'no' and being asked to stop. |

It's possible he'll suffer more in prison now, than he would have back then. He's older, he has more to lose. One can only hope. |

I'm looking for an upside here. Unfortunately even if he receives similar treatment in prison he'll probably just enjoy it. He's just another illustration that the modern world is a plutocracy. If you have enough money you can get away with almost anything. |
