Ok, well, while dinner was good, it was not picture worthy. The scallops, sauteed in butter and garlic, were a tiny, tiny bit fishy, which is always a turn off. The steaks where surprisingly thinner than I thought they were - and I proceeded to overcook them a little. Dang. But, my poblano chili corn rice was the best. I will make that again. Hope your dinner turns/turned out great!!!

Happy Labor Day Weekend, everyone......

I made lasagne for my birthday and Mr. DL made tiramisu. We ate it all before we could get a picture but it sure was yummy!

Porterhouse steaks sound awesome Rue!

I'm making chicken enchiladas and rice today and then fillet mignons tomorrow.

I am making chiliquiles today. The sauce is cooking now. I added extra chilis, so it will be hot, hot, hot,,, need to turn on the a/c LOL

Picked up some Anaheim chilies today, they are finally back in season, so I will be making green chili soon. Make it like it is suppose to be made! hahaha American style!

I am still missing really good beef..... my new supplier is really good but just isn't like home... want to click my heels and be in Colorado for a real grilled steak dinner...think of me when you are chowing down. I love labor day in Colorado. I envy you all this weekend.

Green chili is such a funny thing. New Mexican's call it a stew but my M-I-L was from Chihauhau and said that the New Mexican green chili was for gringos! So, who knows?

Rib eye steaks and fresh steamed brocolli for dinner tonight.....we are into simple meals lately. I do have some imported pickled walnuts to go with the steaks.

Yep Gringa - she could eat it REALLY hot!

I like simple meals like steak and broccoli or steak and corn on the cob.

I am the Queen of 30 minute meals. The simpler the better, as far as I am concerned.
