Flume released this on Pineclan...

Eleven suicides so far this year in Park County have already broken the calendar-year record of eight set in 2001. Details in Friday's Flume.

I hate the SO FAR part..... why did they just not say 11 suicides this year? I guess the reporter has some insight into the minds of park county residents and is predicting more??

Maybe he/she is having a bad day? Maybe we should post a number for the suicide hotline just in case.

I hate to mention this, but I predicted that suicides and murder-suicides were going to sky-rocket because of the economic problems we are facing... not to mention domestic abuse and divorce. What is happening is far more serious that the down-slide of the economy, it is the down-slide of the family....

We ain't seen nothing yet ------ OH!!!!!! BTW, I happened to see that the DOW closed yesterday at the highest point since Nov of last year - - -- I guess Obama gets the credit? He sure as hell took the blame when it fell..... just saying..... TM????? Hello? I don;t hear you chiming in with praise for our President.... :gringa:

Not bloody likely. The FRB gets the credit such as it is. I don't know if you've noticed but at the same time that the DOW is gaining, the price of gold is going up at a much greater pace. Basically means that you're seeing inflation. Wait a few months, it will hit everything else.

I agree with Gringa that we ain't seen nothing yet.

As far as credit to President Obama goes, I would dearly love to see something that I think he deserves credit for --- errr, for which I think he deserves credit ;-)

The best I can come up with is that he is ambitious.

I hope his actions will change my mind in the future.

As if all of this is his fault - what goes up, what goes down - (can't find the roll roll smilie thingy) IF ONLY our president has/had as much power as you try to give him....................................

But, you miss my point, kinda. Jf at least acknowledged it a little. We are in for hard times and families will/are falling apart. No matter what happens to you, personally, you have to keep it together. It is not the end of the world. Maybe the end of the world as you know it, but not the end of the world. Love your family and stay strong. You need each other.

The 24/7 news cycle whips the fires of despair. If all you hear is bad news it's hard to hope.
