Democrats are preventing Republican House Members from sending their constituents a mailing that is critical of the majority’s health care reform plan, blocking the mailing by alleging that it is inaccurate.

House Republicans are crying foul and claiming that the Democrats are using their majority to prevent GOP Members from communicating with their constituents.

The dispute centers on a chart (view PDF) created by Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and Republican staff of the Joint Economic Committee to illustrate the organization of the Democratic health care plan.

At first glance, Brady’s chart resembles a board game: a colorful collection of shapes and images with a web of lines connecting them.

But a closer look at the image reveals a complicated menagerie of government offices and programs that Republicans say will be created if the leading Democratic health care plan becomes law.

It is an interesting graphic...unfortunately it is also not a true representation of anything......Unless the republicans can show that it represents what they say it does (supposedly the democrats health care plan) then it's a big lie, when confronted even the republicans couldn't make head nor tails of it.

Here's a graphic that's a lie too!

TM, maybe you are correct. Change (i.e. lies) we change believe in.

If the Dems think the Reps graphic is incorrect, why don't they provide one they think is correct?

Maybe no one could make heads or tails of the Reps version, because they can't make heads or tails of the 'plan' either?

Just asking.

certainly not disagreeing....i think the democrats plan has a long way to go.....and from the beginning I had hoped the republicans would come up with a plan of their own so the two sides could negotiate, and the American people could weigh in on what they thought. But that has not happened....other than the republicans saying that yes, they think there needs to be some kind of healthcare reform, they have been less than forthcoming with ideas of their own. I guess it is just easier to bash the democrats plan than to actually go to work and create an alternative. Maybe after the August recess they will actually do their job and create a republican plan that we can look at.

I see the same thing all the time at work. It's an epidemic. It's dead easy to point out everyone elses mistakes, and if you never actually do anything then you never make mistakes of your own. All you have to do is Pick, Pick, Pick away and make everyone who is willing to put themselves out there and take a risk look bad. You never have to break a sweat coming up with new ideas. You never have to risk having your ideas knocked down or debunked. It's lazy, pure and simple. It's also dishonest.
