I was thinking about creating a website to link local contractors, builders and tradesmen up here. What do you guys think of the idea. A sort of HGTV how to do it yourself website.

In what way Becky? I have no technical knowledge - is that what you need?

Doesn't the "Local Businesses" forum on PC accomplish the same thing? (I hired a contractor to come fix my bathroom floors and some plumbing problems and he did an EXCELLENT job!, by the way.)

I suppose it does but I would like to create more of a "do it yourself" sort of website where you can see videos and ask questions of professionals on how to properly do a project at home. I posted something on Pinecam about it and will wait to see if they like the idea so I don't step on their toes but I would like to have something like this up here.
Mostly I would need help with ideas and organization. How to organize the forums so they are easy to use and such.

I know a lot about flooring and can talk folks through a lot of issues there but I know nothing about faux painting. I would love to have a painter that I could post a question about materials or short cuts. I would like to paint my kitchen cabinets in a special way but don't know where to start. We can't afford to hire a lot of people to do the work on our home....especially these days.

That would be better than the Pinecam recommendations. No clubbiness involved. I've had bad experiences with some of Pinecams favorites. Sharing expertise would give you an upfront idea of how the contractor operated before you hire. Are they willing to give a little to get a lot?
