Gringa...there is nothing real about the blind hatred the right has for Obama....even if he did everything they say they want they would hate him and blast him. One too many cries of "wolf".....I no longer even read what they post. There are better places to spend my time where actual discussions take place ....no, not PC....the study is just a shooting range to plink the right wing nutz....they make it so easy, but they still are more of a challenge than the threads that have been started here. Like I said in the other thread....BORING. |

Your guy hasn't turned out to be who ya thought. Some saw it coming. The truth is emerging and we point out facts that run contrary to his promises and we are filled with blind hatred? I can't speak for anyone else but I love this country and I am pretty worried about how bad this could get in 4 years. We can keep throwing it back at Bush as a distraction or a lot of people can see a mistake for what it is and start standing up to at least try to do what is right. You want a substancial dialogue here? Give your opinion of how you feel about folks in key positions in the Obama administration making big bucks on this mess we are in. Give us a good reason for why this is OK instead of attacking Bush and taking your toys and retreating. You voted for this guy. Convince me that he isn't gonna flush our country down a toilet. We weren't allowed to continue to blame Clinton without you crying fowl so do yourself and credibility a favor and stop already on Bush. I don't hate Obama. I love my country and I am watching it head down a far worse path than even Jimmy Carter could have handed us. You voted for this mess. At least have the back bone and decency to stick around and defend it 2 months down the line. geeeeeeezzzzzz |

It was RT that brought up Bush, Becky, not me....... I don't like what is happening. I don't like the bonuses being paid to bailed-out company employees like Fannie Mae, AIG, etc., I don't like top guys being beneficiaries to these funds.... I don't like it, at all. I don't like the cuts in Medicare supplemental insurance, I don't like the bail-outs - but, mostly, I don't like the abuses. Including the ones in the last administration. Oh, FORGIVE ME for bringing up the past administration (who has only been gone for 2 months - you people were bitching about Clinton for 8 GD years. ) BTW, I didn't like Clinton so don't lump me into that group.I am concerned about the economy. But, my concerns go far deeper than the current administration. The plan has been in play for a long time to destroy the middle class and transfer all of the wealth. This plan is/has been in the works for a long, long time. We can look at the history of our government and see that it JUST didn't start on January 20th, 2009. I feel that powers far stronger than the office of President of the USA are at work. Does any one man have the power to stop it? Maybe, and does the economic package go far enough to stop it? Probably not and I think if money is going to be thrown at the problem, it should be thrown at more long term job creation. We are sitting back watching our car companies tank - and THOSE are the companies we should be working with, not the fuckers in the banking and insurance business.... those jobs affect people like you and me. I do like the funding of stem-cell research. I do like the economic stimulus - we will see if it does any good or not, time will tell on that, I think it should have gone deeper and further. I do like the diplomacy of our current administration. I do like the openness of our new government. I like the withdrawal plan from Iraq. I like that GITMO will be closed and one of the Bush abuses is being investigated and turned around. There are positive things happening. Not everything is in the toilet. WHERE THE PROBLEM LIES IS WHY THE REPUBLICANS LOST THE ELECTION - THE ECONOMY.... and it is not going to get great anytime soon. We all knew it, it was no secret. We need to create jobs and instill consumer confidence before we see strides in that area....however, I feel that most all of our proplems are the result of bad banking practices that, and again, are not the fault of the current administration. This administration is left to pick up the pieces, as McCAin would have had to do if he had been elected.... how it is being done may or may not work. Time will tell... I am optimistic. I am seeing positive things happening in my little world, people are spending a bit more and booking vacations. Not everyone is poor, homeless and jobless... we are not even close to the great depression era, no matter what anyone says. Yes, it is bad, hopefully, it will not get any worse. We are robbing Peter to pay Paul right now and if we can get the ball rolling and get the economy back on track, yes, we will pay the piper later but we need to do what we need to do RIGHT NOW... OK - I am rambling here, but I HAD to respond to you, Becky. I HAD to, because people are busy right now and not responding to your posts, or they are tired of talking about it, does not mean they are happy or pissed with what is happening. Don't confuse silence as admission of guilt or lack of thoughts. |

Thank you Gringa, well said. Honestly, Obama is exactly as I expected. Not a socialist at all but a firm corporatist. No one else would be allowed to hold the office. No surprises- he still stands head and shoulders above what McCain would have brought us. Can he deliver us from the transnational corporate interests? Of course not. That's our job if we have the balls to take it on. Most here seem content to whine day after day about the same crap being fed them on their favorite blogs and propaganda outlets. If we lose our freedom it's because we were stupid enough to believe it's all about party ideology and not about the Constitution. Looking back over the past week of postings I missed I see not one original or well-thought out question. It's sad. |

Gringa - this is what I was trying to say in another thread. RT - Although I consider myself a moderate, I am conservative in my thinking but you make such sweeping generalizations and sound as though you're crazy (as Gringa states above) that your credibility gets lost in the stupid slogans. |
