It's doubtful that anyone in the Grant area would want to take the pass to avoid a fire. I sure would not. Stay low and in the canyon would be route out. I said Jefferson because DB posted that it would be an alternative for I-70. Usually when there is a storm on I-70 ...there is a storm on 285 in Jefferson. So that's why I said Jefferson. Again, I doubt you would want to route winter traffic over a pass to Breck instead of turning them around....plus Mtnman cleared up the accusation that the road was open year round. It's not! Of course, we could spend millions each year to remove the snow so some city slickers can slide off at the water falls and crash. |
