I know that my taxes are complicated. I can't speak against someone who had their tax return voluntarily looked over and found a $7,000 error in the past 4 years, paid the tax and the penalty. What do you want people to say?

Hardly the same as sitting back defending the Bush and Co. destroying our constitution, now is it?

BTW, I have been audited 10 times by the IRS - yes, count them... TEN times. Every time errors were found, even though I knew I was under the microscope and prepared my taxes with Kidd gloves.

Once the IRS owed me $3500, once I owed them $14, once they owed me $250, one time the auditor decided to "overlook" 2 errors I had made, one in my favor and one in the favor of the IRS... she said they just "wash" each other out - later inspection found that it was in MY favor and I was owed $500 - I just forgot about it..... anyone who has a complicated return is bound to make errors and especially with our tax code so burdensome many codes can be taken a number of ways.....

Wouldn't life be simple and power removed from Capitol Hill IF, there were no corporate taxes or income taxes? If we had a flat tax of 15% federal, 2% state, 7.5% FICA (going into a private investment account) and the other employer match going to the federal "trust", and 2% medicare employee paid and 2% employee match?

With a flat tax - all Americans would pay into the system. IRS audits would be eliminate, corporate tax departments would be eliminated, and CPA could do some real accounting work for it's clients.
