RT: This is just stupid economics. Both parties have gone crazy.

President Obama's economic stimulus plan has topped $920 billion after the Senate agreed Wednesday to give a tax break of up to $15,000 to homebuyers in hopes of revitalizing the housing industry.

The proposal would allow a tax credit of 10 percent of the value of new or existing residences, up to a $15,000 limit. Current law provides for a $7,500 tax break but only for first-time homebuyers.

Isakson's office said the proposal would cost the government an estimated $19 billion.

nope....do you never read what I post?....I'm against ALL the bailouts and stimulous packages.....but I won't get what I want, pandora's box has already been opened.

What I do know is no matter who we got as president...no matter which party populates the congress....there are going to be these big stimulous packages because that is what they do when they don't know what else to do. This isn't about helping the economy, this is about the perception by the bulk of the American people that the government is addressing their economic issues.

If huge amounts of money are going to be spent.....and they are...then I turn my attention to where they are being spent, I am more for spending on infrastructure and education then on tax cuts.....I would rather see the existing social programs shored up than looking for new programs....And I would rather see money directed at help for middle and lower income than corporations and the wealthy....that is what makes me a liberal...

Hey MP, I agreed to quit the name calling....

For the record (if you can read), I say let every poorly managed business fail...no matter the consequences.

Only a socialism activist would advocate to save the immoralities of the government and the white collar criminals within the capitalism with bailouts.

Listen...Don't fall into this language trap. The government pumps hundreds of billion dollars into our economy every year and has done so every year since the great depression. Republicans invest it in war production and democrats invest it in us. Thats as old as dirt. EVERY YEAR THERES A STIMULUS PACKAGE FOR WEAPONS MAKERS!!! We elected democrats so we could shift where our money is being invested. At least thats why I voted for him anyway. I could'nt care less about him being a great speaker or a charismatic figure....Why would anybody in America be opposed to this stimulus package is beyond me. And furthermore do you know how much we spend on defense!? You don't think President Obama is gonna take the money from there? Of course he is because what we spend on defense is more that the rest of the world combined spends on it. It's ridiculous. The President cannot sell this "stimulus package" by saying he's going to end the ridiculous war on drugs and by chopping our bloated defense budget, but obviously thats the plan. Talk about the TARP money, talk about the 10 billion dollars a week in Iraq, but lets not pick apart reletively small amounts of money that is finally coming our way..
