It's funny what you can find growing in your backyard if you look real hard.

Me and little precious were hiking near a beaver pond that I found on a satilite map last fall- and near the creek feeding the pond we found a real treasure..No it wasn't buds..It german cystal hops..They don't occure naturally here and someone planted them years ago since they take 7 years to begin producing. Last year there was a sevre hop shortage and I estimate there was about $10,000 worth of Hops there. All up and down the creek for about 100 yards..They are vines and they went up into trees..It was beautiful. I wish I had brought the camera..We dumped everything out of our back packs and stuffed them with hops..I gave my kid the co ordinates and he went with friends the next day to harvest garbage bags full..We dry freezed pounds of them and traded more pounds to a local brew store in exchange for advanced equipment. We will go back every september when they are ripe and ready to harvest.

We ran into some while rock hunting last summer. If I known they were valuable I'd have harvested them for you. I took enough to make a couple of sleep pillows. |

My well is 800 feet deep and when we brew with it I boil the water, then put it through expensive filters. We only use the finest organic grain which we germinate ourselfs- we mash them at exactly 171 degrees which brings out all of the sugars and keeps the PH perfect..Then during the boil we continually hop the mixture with these pure organic wild cyrstal hops..Every minute for 120 minutes, then we imeadialy cool it with our wort chiller and pitch it with a Lager yeast. 6 weeks later we have Upper Burland, Cystal Colorado Lager and man it is good. Liquid gold. I'm selling 6 packs for $34.99 if anyones interested. You have to buy 10 though.

Your well might be 800 feet deep, sweetie, not 8000 - easy mistake to make. Change it before the mongers make a big deal out of it. |
