I can't. I had to get out of there and the Bella de Artistas..... the art is too depressing. I guess thousands of years of oppession does that to an artist.

I love the colors and the images - it fascinates me. I have been there three times but haven't gotten through the entire history of Mexico.

RT - your comment was ugly - my husband and my children are of Mexican descent and all are successful, decent and loving people. What an ugly comment and shame on you.

Not sure if they were virgins - they did do human sacriface. They found a room inside the big pyamid that had about 30 sacrificed bodies. Overall, they were thought to be peaceful, no slaves..... not much is known about these pre-Aztec, pre-Maya people.

I guess the more things change the more they stay the same. Peaceful my ass

Here is one to bust your chops. I happened upon a lesbian rights march one day...best thing about Mexico City is that you never know what you might see.... In just a week I saw the Solstice celebration, a 1,000,000 person demonstration against the government hosted by the "other" President of Mexico, a 20,000 semi truck rally in protest to the raise in the cost of diesel fuel.

Don't let it bother you, DL. Remember, you get what you give in this world. The whole point of this thread shouldn't be lost on the ignorant.
