- Change of Leadership

Aboard the command vessel of The Last Fleet, rumors spread like wildfire about the potential for a mutiny. While on several occasions the Commander has stated that he feels no such action will be taken, it is yet to be seen if this age old veteran will be overturned by one of, or by a group of, his closest colleagues.

"I don't know how else to describe it sir, something is... I don't even know. It seems every once in a while our systems get used to forward something else than just the normal Holonet data."

"You realize what you're telling me, Right Lieutenant?"

"Yes sir, I understand the possible implications. At the moment we still have control over all of the rudimentary systems, so no one should notice t-"

"You bet your ass they'll notice when they can't talk to anyone anymore!" The ranking officer sighed and removed his hat. "Alright, is there anything you can tell me for certain?"

"I believe so. Disruptions seem to be happening throughout the fleet, not just from our flagship. So whatever it, or whoever it is, it's moving around the fleet. It's likely we have a very intelligent hacker on board, sir."

"Alright, I want guards posted at all airlocks and aboard all ships going to and from each vessel. Team up with Sergeant Litus and -"

"Sir, I didn't want to tell you yet because I thought perhaps he had merely left without telling anyone, but no one has heard or seen Sergeant Litus in two days."

"What? Are all of our shuttles accounted for?"

"Yes sir."

"Blast it... He was our foremost expert on how this entire operation works. Keep your eyes out Lieutenant, this doesn't feel like a coincidence. Gather a team of whoever wants to volunteer, tell them to look in to this."

"Yes sir..."

"This is just my chance..." Momive Eewriek, a low ranking member of the Fleet heard the call to join an investigative squad. He was eager to advance in the ranks, and he felt solving this mystery could be his ticket to the top.

"Sign me up, Momive Eewriek at your service."

The lieutenant looked over at Momive with a bit of surprise. First one down, he thought.

"Alright, I'll make sure you're notified if the team's going to organize anything. In the mean time you're free to try and solve it on your own. If you do be sure to let me know."

In a Carth like fashion, Eewriek shook his head, "You got it."

He made his way towards what were once the Sgt.'s quarters, hoping to find some sort of data log or journal that would hint to his whereabouts. If no ships had left, perhaps he was still aboard. When he arrived, the door was locked, he looked over both his shoulders, then in a violent motion kicked the door in, eagerly looking about.

The lower ranking soldiers always did seem to have some preset disposition to act as if they were in some high budget HoloMovie, nevertheless, Eewrieks actions proved fruitful as the lost Sergeants room was free for him to survey.

Unfortunately, nothing seemed to be out of place. The clothes he'd be wearing were gone, as well as his sidearm and datapad. Nothing was out of the ordinary, it was if one day he simply woke up and never returned.

"Shit."

Eewriek glanced about the room, finding exactly what he hoped he hadn't. The ordinary. Eewriek then turned back to the door, sighing at the broken hinges. "The Lt. is gonna be on my ass for that one..."

He went back to report about the condition of the Sgt.'s quarters, however along the way he decided to stop and ask some questions to the Sgt.'s men.

Most of them were talking to each other in the mess. As Eewriek approached, one man in particular shuffled his feet to meet Eewrieks eyes. Not officially enlisted within the military, William Fert had been one of the Sergeants dearest friends. Despite his civilian status, he was allowed to carry a firearm like most enlisted personnel.

"May I help you?"

"If you would be so kind, yes you may." Eewriek's eyes descended towards the firearm, than up at the man's face.

"When was the last time you saw the Sgt.?"

"Two days ago, Last time anyone saw him. Why do you ask?"

"We are investigating his "disappearance." Had the Sgt. been acting any differently over the past few weeks? Any weird behaviors of note?"
